Around the next two weeks, Charlie and I got along pretty well. I would go to her house after school most days. Other days, Jordan would go to my place or I would go to his.
Charlie and I would always text, and if we couldn't text, we would Facetime. If we couldn't Facetime, we would call each other.
Yup, if Jenna wasn't a great best friend, then Charlie is.
But then I always thought about Jenna. Was our friendship lost forever...?
I missed the chats we would have on Kik. And if it weren't for her, I wouldn't have known about Jordan. Was I wrong the whole time?
So one day, the last day before Thanksgiving break, Charlie asked me, "So, I'm not trying to be rude, but you've been to my house a coupl'a times. I was wondering, why don't you invite me to yours?"
I felt my face go extremely hot. "O-o-oh my God, I'm sorry,oh shit I never thought of that, I'm sorry, I'm such an idiot. What the hell is--"
She put her finger to my lips. I heard one guy yell, "Lesbian action!" I rolled my eyes as Charlie flipped him the bird.
"Anyways," she said, giggling. "As I was saying, you aren't stupid. I mean, that's happened to me before. But at least you have me! I did that to a friend, and you know what? She called me a bitch and never hung out with me again. So, can I come over sometime?"
I heard a guy yell, "To do what?"
Charlie yelled back. "Fuck off!
I smiled. "Charlie, why don't you come over tomorrow? I'll tell my parents and call you."
Charlie squealed and grasped my hands. "Yes! Thanks, Sof! You're the best."
She cleared her throat and said, "I mean, it sounds like a plan."
Then Jordan came in the classroom and gave me a peck on the lips. "Sorry, babe. Juley called me in." He grimaced. Then gave me a smile.
I stared at him puzzled, as Charlie made gagging noises. "Ewww, PDA!" She joked. Then, smiling at me, she winked. "But you two are goals though."
Jordan, not hearing the last part, said, "Shut up, Charlie. Now quit hogging my girlfriend. Do you, like, love her or something?"
Charlie hit him. "At least I don't love her like you do. You hog her all the time. Who knows? Maybe you're giving her some ST--"
He clamped a hand over her mouth. "Shut up!" He yelled. Charlie giggled and they both ended up laughing. I smiled at them.
Charlie was a great friend. I don't know what I did to deserve her.

After I came home, I saw a familiar car in Mrs. Smith's. Tyler was home!
I felt a pang of guiltiness. I hardly ever talked to Mrs. Smith anymore....
Jordan drove his car up my driveway. Ii opened the door and gave him a quick peck on the cheek. "Thanks, babe, "I said. Then, I whispered, "You okay?"
He looked at me, his eyes going from dim to bright. Suspicious.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Anyways, you should go. You don't need your parents waiting." He looked nervous, like he was hiding something from me.
Was he.....?
I blinked at him. He stared at me. Finally, he opened his mouth. "Our love is strong, right?"
I nodded. "Right."
He sighed. "So if I moved away, or had to move away, or had to die, even, you would follow me. Right?"
I stared at him. What was he talking about? Was he going to die?
