A few days later, after Charlie met my parents, I got this random text. The number was unknown and it read: Hey I'm sorry.
Who was this from? Charlie? Jordan? Did they get a new phone and not tell me?
So, I ignored it.
A few days after I got that text, a package was sent to my house. It was for me, but it didn't say who it was from. I opened it anyways, to see if they left a card or something. All I got was a hug bag full of assorted chocolates--KitKats, Twixs, M&Ms, etc. There was no clue to who sent it to me.
So I got the remaining details of the package and sent a 'Thank You' card and a bag of candy back to the sender.
And one day at school, I was hit with a paper ball in first period. I uncrumpled it and it read: You're still mad, aren't you? Is our friendship really over?
Then, my dumbass brain realized who it was. Jenna.
That day, I slipped a note in Jenna's locker during our locker break. I wanted her to meet me at the park. So we could start over.
Everything was planned. All I had to do was wait.
-
I arrived at the park fifteen minutes before I told Jenna to come here. I wanted to be ready. I turned on my phone and went to my messages, changing the 'unknown number' to Jenna.
Then, I went on Kik, and scrolled through our messages there. As I read them, I smiled because some of them brought back good memories.
I felt someone sit next to me, and I looked up to see Jenna.
I quickly turned off my phone. I probably looked like a love-sick teenager, getting texts from her boyfriend.
Well, I did get texts from Jordan, but I wasn't love-sick.
"O-oh! Hey, Jenna!" I stuttered a little. My voice sounded flustered, surprised.
She smirked at me. "It took you that long to figure out it was me the whole time?" She chuckled. "You're still dumb as ever."
Then, we made eye contact. My eyes were getting blurrier by the second, until Jenna was nothing but a colorful blurry mess. When I saw a tear roll down her cheek, I blinked.
Before I knew it, we were hugging each other and sobbing like someone we cared about had died.
"I'm......so.....sorry...!!" Jenna sobbed in my shoulder. I shook my head. "No....I am!" We held each other tight as we cried our hearts out. I didn't care passerby's were watching us, and I don't think Jenna did either.
My sobs faded into sniffles, and by the time I stopped crying, Jenna's weight was pressuring my shoulder. I lifted my face from her shoulder and said in my hoarse voice, "Jenna.....hey, Jenna, get up." I stared at her closed eyes, and small smile. I smiled to myself. She was sleeping.
I got my phone out and called Mom.
Jenna was spending the night tonight.
-
I felt someone kick my face. "Mmmmhm," I groaned. I heard a giggle and an apology. I rolled over to my side, squeezed my eyes shut, and pulled the blankets over my head, so I would be covered in warmth, since it was cold as fuck.
I felt one side of the bed dip, and get into level again. "Where are you going?" I heard a voice. It sounded like Jason's.
"Ssh!" Another voice whispered harshly. "Whatever you do, don't wake her up. Keep recording!"
"'Kay," I heard another voice, which sounded like Chloe's, followed by the sound of a 'pop'. Yup, that was Chloe.
Wondering what was going on, I opened my eyes and got out of the blankets. Jason yelled and Chloe said, "Fuck."
I glared at Chloe. "No cussing when Jason is around." Chloe stuck her tongue out at me. "Bullshit."
I hit Chloe on the head as Jenna came in saying, "Bovine escraments, you mean?"
I rolled my eyes at Jenna and smiled. "Shut up, you goofball." Jenna smiled and sighed. "Damn, I missed this. I love roasting your Hispanic ass." (A/N- IF YOU'RE OFFENDED BY THIS, THEN SORRY. THIS WASN'T MEANT TO BE OFFENSIVE.)
I pointed the middle finger at her. "Shut up, bitch." Jenna winked and blew me a kiss. "But you love me."
Chloe smacked her lips. "Ugh, this is happening again. Ciao," she said as she left the room. Jason followed her.
I smiled at Jenna and she smiled at me. She no longer looked tired. In fact, she looked as if she was sparkling.
"What were we fighting about?" I asked her. She shrugged and said, "Whatever it was, it was stupid, but taught me something."
I smiled at her. "Same here!"
Finally, finally , Jenna and I made up.
Everything was returning to normal.
