Chapter 8

Ivene

My alarm set off at exactly 9 am. I sat up from my bed then stretched my arms. I could smell the scent of breakfast from downstairs. I bet she's cooking eggs or something. I went downstairs and walked into the kitchen, to see my mom cooking fried rice, eggs, and bacon. 

"Anak, kain na. Para makapaghanda ka na sa date mo." My mom said. Date? Nice try, mom. It's not even a date, nor a friendly date. It's just lunch out, geez. I rolled my eyes and my mom just laughed. I sat down on the chair as my mom placed down the food on the table.

I thanked her then started to eat. I wonder what I'll wear though. I want to look presentable when I see him. Once again, looking back at the past, I was just a fan. Then in a few hours I'll be having lunch with him. This is crazy, maybe dreams do come true. I finished eating then placed my plate in the sink

I went back upstairs to take a shower. I went inside the bathroom then opened the water heater. First, I shampooed my hair, then rinsed. After that, I used conditioner, letting it set on my hair while I soaped my body. After all that, I rinsed my hair and body. Getting my towel from the towel rack, I dried my hair. I placed it on my hair then wore my bathrobe. With that, I left the bathroom and went to my bedroom.

I opened my closet and stared at it. What should I wear? I decided to call Darren. Yes, Darren. Since he's JK's best friend, I suppose he would know what he likes, right? I took my phone and dialed his number, it kept on ringing and no one was picking up. After a while, he finally answered.

"What's up, V?" Darren said.

"D, help me. What does JK like? I mean, does he prefer girls wearing skirts, or jeans? Sleeveless or not? Dresses? Flats, heels, or sneakers? Hair down or hair tied? Make up or natural?" I bombarded him with questions. Sorry, D! 

He took a deep breath then sighed. "Jeans, not sleeveless, I don't know about dresses. Sneakers, hair down, natural. Does that answer all your questions?" He told me. THANK YOU, DARREN! HULOG KA NG LANGIT!

"Yes! Thank you so much, D! Biyaya ka sa buhay ko." I told him, he laughed at me. He had to end the call since he was taping at that time. I disturbed him, Sorry for the second time, D. I said good bye and hung up.

I did exactly what he said. I wore a t-shirt that wrote "Party on the Pier'', it was color white and Hollister branded. Wore skinny jeans and my dark blue converse. I combed my hair and just let it down. I placed my regular baby powder and lip balm. I'm ready! I checked the time, it was 10:30 a.m., It was just the right time since I should be there around before 12 p.m., One hour commute time.

I fixed my things into my bad then went downstairs and kissed my mom on the cheek, I said goodbye then left the house. I decided to walk to the transportation terminal since it was nearby, it was literally just a 10 minute walk.

When I arrived there, I saw a van that goes straight to ATC. I'm in luck today, I went to that van and got in, then I paid the driver for the fee. I pulled out my phone from my bad then texted JK, to inform him that I'm on my way.

"To:  JK mylabs; Hey JK! I'm on my way already, how about you?" I hit send, and after a minute or so he replied.

"From: JK mylabs;  Yes, I'm on my way. :)" 

Nice! I'm right on time then. I plugged on my earphones on my phone then listened to music. I'm really excited. I hope this lunch out ends well.

-Time skip to ATC-

I hopped off the van then walked inside of ATC. It was a 45 minute ride. JK texted me just a few minutes ago that he's already here. I walked to Yellow Cab then saw him sitting on a table outside, using his phone. 

He was wearing a long sleeve grey sweater, then skinny denim jeans. His hair was curly and messy as always. I sneaked behind him then covered his eyes.

"Ivene!" JK yelled and placed his hands on top of mine. Butterflies, I could feel them. He smiled then I removed my hands from his eyes.

"Hey, Karlos!" I smiled back at him, sitting on the chair in front of his direction.

"Tara, order na tayo?" He asked me, I nodded. We went inside Yellow Cab then fell in line at the counter. When it was our turn, JK spoke up.

"One pepperoni and cheese pizza, regular size." He told the cashier. "Drinks po?" The cashier asks.

"Just water." I said, since we were gonna have Starbucks after eating here. The cashier smiled at us as she wrote down our orders. We went back to our table then waited for our order. While waiting, me and JK were talking.

"So, let's get to know each other. Let's play 21 questions, I'll start." I told him, he nodded.

I paused for a while.. I have nothing to ask him! I know almost everything about him already. I laughed nervously.

"Okay, it seems like you know a lot about me already, so I'll ask instead." He smiled. "How old are you? and when's your birthday?" 

"I'm 14, and I already told you my birthday, it's May 23rd." I told him, he laughed.

"D'aw, I forgot, sorry! Cool though, we're the same age, and your birthday is a day before Darren's." JK said. Oh my gosh, I kinda forgot about that too.

"What are your favorites? General basic stuff." JK asked.

"My favorite color is blue, black, and white. My favorite movie is Pitch Perfect. My favorite book is anything Goosebumps or Rick Riordan. My favorite drink is anything Starbucks, so basically coffee. My favorite food is pizza, obviously, and lasagna. My favorite kind of dog is a Shibe Inu and a pug. My favorite song is Stuck by Darren." I told him, that's basic general stuff, right?

"I like your favorites, especially the color. I like blue and white too." He smiled at me.

"I know." I told him. Oops, well that slipped out of my mouth.

"One last question." He told me. 

"Go on." I replied to him.

"Who's your crush?"

My eyes widened and my heartbeat became faster. I asked my self the same question. Who is my crush? 

"It's.."
