Katie's outfit!!

I walked to my first class with a teacher named Mr. Wilson.  He was very attractive, in an older man type of way.  The other girls thought so too, considering if they would have looked too much longer they would have been drooling.

"Good morning class.  We have a new student named Katie Tompson.  Would you like to stand up and say where you are from?"  He asked staring at my outfit.

"Yes, of course! I am Katie obviously, and I am from California."  I said using my speaking voice.  My mom would always tell me I would be an orator.

"Good.  And what is your favorite past time in California?"  He asked smiling.

"The beach and how sunny it was,"  I said sitting down.

"Okay, thank you.  So, first things first this year.  Papers and speeches.   We will do them both and there is no getting out of them."  He said looking around the room.

I was so excited when he said that we were going to get to do some speeches.  They were my favorite things about English.

"Our first speech is going to be about what you did this summer,"  He said grabbing a stack of papers off of his desk.  "These are the rubrics.  You will not use the podium or note cards.  I believe that you guys will do just fine."

"Mr. Wilson, what did you do this summer?"  A girl from the back of the room asked.

"I got engaged to my fiance.  We are planning to get married the next summer."  He said with a giant smile.  I started to wonder if Kevin would smile like that when people ask him if we are together.

"Awww!!"  A bunch of girls said.

The bell rang and I went to my next class.   My schedule for the day was Spanish, study hall, Honors English,  study hall again, lunch, physics, Pre-Calc, and Honors History.  I was so happy to have a time of rest for a little while.  I went to the library for study hall.

As the people started to file in, I started to get nervous.  I didn't know anyone until Damion walked in.  I was nervous that he wouldn't come and talk to me, and I was right.  He looked at me, but went and sat down by a blonde with green eyes.  She smiled at him and gave him a kiss on the cheek.  Man, he worked fast.

A girl with brown hair came and sat by me. "Are you new?"  She asked smiling.

"Yes, I am,"  I said smiling back at her.

"Well, you can consider me a new friend.  Did you do any sports at your old school?"

"I did cheerleading and I tried volleyball,"  I said not even thinking about sports.

"Cheerleading?"  She asked excitedly.

"Yes."

"Well, are you going to try out for our team?"  She asked smiling.

"If you would have me... I would love to!"  I said. I was just happy I had something to consume my time now.

"Great.  You can come tomorrow and try out.  We could love to have you."  She said clapping.

I was excited, but I had to get my speech done for Mr. Wilson's class.  I was excited to have an English class that actually did something.  I finished typing it out just as the bell rang.

"What did you do that was interesting today?"  Kevin asked as we walked into the lunch room.

"I met some new people, and I am trying out for the cheerleading team tomorrow,"  I said excitedly.

"Really?  That is very interesting."  He said, his eyes following Damion.  His hands hooked around the same girl's hand that was in the library.

"Kevin, are you okay?"  I asked waving my hand in front of his face.

"Yeah... I'm fine."

"Okay..."  I said knowing he was lying.

We walked through the lunch line and Kevin didn't say anything.  When we sat down he didn't eat what was on his tray.

"Kevin!  I want to know what is wrong,"  I said.

"Nothing is wrong.  I'm just not very hungry.  Is that a crime?"  He asked.

"Fine... but don't talk to me until you can tell me what is going on,"  I  said getting up and taking my tray up to the trash.

"How's it going with Kevin?"  Damion asked.

"I don't know what is wrong with him,"  I said.

"I know what is wrong with him.  You see that girl right there, Lyndsy?"  He asked pointing to the blonde.

"Yes."

"Well, that is his ex and he can't stand the fact that she likes another guy."

"Really?"  I asked disappointed that he still held on to her.

I left Damion at the trash cans and walked over to the table that Kevin was sitting at.

"Who is Lyndsy?"  I asked sitting across from him.

"Who?"  He asked giving the confused face.

"You know who.  Lyndsy.  Do you still like her?"  I asked grabbing his hand.

"No.  I don't like her.  I just can't stand that she really likes Damion.  That is just not smart."

"Why?"

"There are things that you don't know about him,"  Kevin said his eyes getting dark.

"What?"

"He will tell you soon enough.  I know it sucks, but I can't tell you and you don't want me to,"  He said smiling at me.

I went to the rest of my classes and Kevin took me home.  We walked in and saw John and my father sitting on the couch.

"Hey, sweetheart.  It's nice to see you.  Do you mind if Kevin and John come over tonight and eat supper?"  My dad asked when we walked in.

"Anyone else?"  I asked trying to get a count.

"Just Tim and his daughter."

I felt Kevin tense up beside me when my dad said Tim.  This was not good.
