I woke with Kevin's arms around me. I felt secure with him beside me. I could feel his eyes on me and I turned to look at him.
"What?" I asked with a smirk.
"I was just admiring how beautiful you are," he said moving the hair away from my eyes.
"Oh... Thanks," I said my face blushing.
"What made you come back to me?" He asked sitting up on his elbow.
"I had a talk with someone," I said redirecting my attention to finding my clothes.
"Who?" He asked his tone now more serious.
"Well..."
"Who," This time it wasn't a question it was a demand.
"Damion..." I said not wanting to look him in the eyes.
"Is that who you are going to go every time we have a fight? I would like to have a girlfriend who doesn't go to him for advice for once," He said grabbing basketball shorts and throwing them on.
"Wait one second, he told me everything he knew. He didn't even try to talk me out of coming back to you. In fact, he encouraged me to forgive you," I said throwing him a glare.
"Wow, what a gentleman," he said rolling his eyes.
"You know what I don't need this right now. I have practice. If you wanna talk afterwards, and when your attitude is better then maybe I will come back over," I said grabbing my keys and leaving.
I walked downstairs and saw John sitting on the couch. "Good morning, Katie," he said as I looked for my bag.
"Good morning, John. Tell my father that I went to practice if he asks," I said as I walked out the door.
I drove to the school and got around for practice. I was so excited to get my mind of Kevin and on to something that wasn't going to stress me out for the next five hours.
"Good morning, girls," Sophia said running out to the track. "Are we ready for some stretches?"
"Yes," We all said in unison.
"Good."
We stretched for a while then the football players got there. I saw Damion's eyes connect with mine and I looked away. I didn't need him to see right through me right now.
Soon after we stretched we went over some new routines for tonight's game. Sophia explained that we were going to need to be back at the school right at five o'clock for one more run through and that there would be some scouts from colleges around Texas here to look at the seniors. I was just happy that I was a senior.
"Have a good rest of your day, and I will see you back here at five," she said and we all went in to shower and change.
I was just ready to get out of there without Damion or Lyndsy coming to talk to me. I couldn't get so lucky, though.
"How did it go with Kevin?" Damion asked as I walked out of the locker room.
"You really wanna know?"
"I wouldn't have asked if not."
"Let's just say that he is not too happy with me right now," I said looking at him. Today he had a t-shirt with the sleeves cut off and the sides cut down. I couldn't help but stare.
"Why?"
"Because I came to you for advice, and he is ticked that I would do such a thing," I said laughing.
"Oh... wow..." He said looking down at his phone.
"Girlfriend?" I asked looking at his phone.
"Nope. Why would you be jealous?" He asked shutting down his phone.
"No! I would not be jealous! Do you want to get me in even more trouble?" I asked hitting his arm. He made a face like I actually hurt him.
"No, I don't wanna get you in trouble. I just wanted to know."
"I have to go, but I will see you tonight at the game," I said giving him a wave. I feel his eyes on me as I walked out of the field house.
I drove over to Kevin's to see if he had calmed down. He wasn't even home.
I knew exactly where he was.
Me: Where does Lyndsy live?
Damion: Why?
Me: Because that is where Kevin is.
Damion: Oh...
He sent me her address and I was on the way to her house to catch him in the act. I wasn't even going to say anything. I was only going to take some pictures.
I walked up to her door and heard some voices and not what I wanted to hear. I knocked on the door and her dad came to the door.
"Hi, Katie," Tim said when he answered the door.
"Hey, Tim."
"Do you need something?"
"I just came over to drop this off," and I held up Lyndsy's gym bag.
"Oh, okay. She is upstairs."
I walked up the stairs and heard moaning coming from her room. How Tim didn't hear it I will never know. I quietly opened the door and saw Kevin in between her legs. That was all the proof I needed. I snapped some pictures and quietly closed the door.
I drove back to Kevin's house and sat in his room until he got home.
"Kevin!" I yelled and jumped into his arms. I felt his hesitation and pulled away.
"Hey, Katie."
"Are you okay?" I asked starting to pull my phone out.
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"Do I fulfil your needs, Kevin?" Opening up the pictures on my phone.
"Of course sweetheart, you are everything I need and more."
"Really, then why did I find this when I came over to Lyndsy's?" I asked turning my phone to face him.
"How? When?"
"Let me just say, you got caught big boy, and you can't lie your way out of this one," I started to say something else, but the tears just started to fall.
"I'm sorry. I was a moment of weakness."
"And to think that you were mad at me for talking to Damion, but you keep sleeping with her."
"Katie, come on. Don't leave like this."
"I will talk to you later. Go screw her for the next few nights, I mean you were going to anyway."
I walked out his door and didn't look back. I knew I deserved better, but I didn't know what to do with our baby.
