Forbidden Love

Katie's POV

Damion drove me home, and I walked into a surprise.  My dad had my mom sitting on the couch next to him.  I ran to her, and she squeezed me in a hug.  "Hello, my beautiful daughter,"  She said sitting back down. 

"Hi, mom!  What are you doing here?"  I asked sitting on the floor in front of the two. 

"Well, as you know, I am the more cautious of the two of us and I can't just let your father jump into decisions.  So, I am here to be the smart one.  What do you know so far?"

"Well, I know that I am a Faerie and that dad is one of the oldest Faeries.  I also know that Damion is a vampire,"  I told her.  Her face froze when I said this.  

"Vampire?  Tom, you said there were no vampires around here!  Why would you let her come here with him around?"  She asked with a look of regret in her eyes. 

"Mom, I'm fine.  What is wrong with him?  He has been nothing but nice to me since I have been here. I mean what about Kevin?"  

"Who's Kevin?"  She asked looking at me now. 

"He is Tim's son.  Dad's best friend."

"Honey, why don't you go upstairs and get around.  We are leaving now,"  she said.  

"You can't take her.  I just got her back.  Please, Lynda,"  my father said with tears in his eyes. 

"You can't take care of her.  She got pregnant, and then she met a vampire.  You know what I knew this was a mistake."

"Mom, I'm not going.  I have a graduation to attend in a couple of days, and you are not going to ruin it for me,"  I said not budging.

"You don't have a choice."

"What are you going to do?  I am eighteen.  I am old enough to choose what I do.  I am not going anywhere with you."

"Why?  Did you fall in love with a vampire, Katie?"  My mom asked me.  I knew that she was scared I would say yes.  I wasn't in love with Damion... I was in love with Kevin.

"No, mom.  I am not in love with Damion,"  I could tell my dad got to what I was saying because he tensed up.

"Then you who is keeping you in this dumb town.  If I was you I would get out of here as fast as I could."

"No one mom.  I just wanna finish my last few days here.  I love you.  Call me when you get home, okay?"  I said walking her to the door. 

"Okay, sweetheart.  Just don't do anything dumb, please."

"Okay, I love you.  Bye."

I walked up to my room and got started on some homework that had to be done before I could graduate.  I was excited to finally be done with school. Then I heard a knock on my door. 

"Come in,"  I said turning away from my computer. 

"Katie, we should talk.  I don't want you to see Kevin anymore,"  my dad said walking in and sitting on the bed. 

"Why?  Dad, I love him.  I can't just not talk to him."

"You don't need him in your life right now.  You have a lot to worry about, and Kevin is not one of those things,"  My dad said standing up.  

"I don't care.  I love him.  Please!!  Why can't you see that?"  I asked. 

"Katie, I mean it.  I have no patience right now.  You have already been hurt one too many times by that boy.  I will not have it anymore.  You will find a guy that treats you right.  I will not talk about this anymore."  He said walking out of the room.

Did he forget that we have phones still?  I texted Kevin hoping that he would text back.  I know that I hurt him within the last three months, but I really needed to talk to him.  

Me: Are you still awake?

It took him a while to text back but he did.  

Kevin: I wasn't but I am now.  What's up?

Me: My dad said that I can't talk to you anymore.  How can I not talk to you anymore?  I want to see you. 

I sent the message and he texted back. 

Kevin: I'll be right over. Leave your window open.  

I opened my window and went downstairs.  

"Dad?"  I asked walking around.

"Yes?"  I heard him in the kitchen. 

"What are you doing?"  I asked not wanting him to be here when Kevin got here. 

"I am going to work in about two minutes.  I swear Katie if you have Kevin over and you get pregnant again I will not be so nice."

"Okay, bye love you, dad."

"I love you, sweetheart." 

He left and I ran up to my room.  I knew that our love was forbidden, but I couldn't help wanting him more because of it.
