New Year, New Love [Percico]

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope you all had or are having a splendid New Year! May this year bring spectacular things for you and your loved ones. Anyways, to the one-shot of today! Yes, yes, it once again is fluffy.

The time was exactly 10 minutes before New Years. And for Percy, that meant 10 minutes to find the person who had captured his heart. Annabeth.

Just kidding. This is a Percico book. Who else could've captured the Sea Prince's heart than Nico? And although being slightly nervous about liking another boy, Percy was happy. But also terrified. What if Nico didn't return his feelings?

He shook it off, though. It was about to be a New Year. And after about 5 months moping around because of the loss of Annabeth, it was time for a New Love.

He asked around for 5 minutes, already wasting half of his time trying to find the elusive son of Hades. Godsdammit. Where can that boy be? Percy cursed in his mind. There were now only 5 minutes until Leo (he came back on Festus whooping with Calypso in his company) set off the special fireworks he had created himself. The last of the festive explosives would have a heart with half of it black and the other green, asking Nico to be his boyfriend. And all that would take place at a special spot on Firework Beach.

Percy didn't know where else to look. He had checked the woods, Iris Messaged Hazel to see if he was in Camp Jupiter, even IM'd Hades to find out if Nico was in the Underworld! No such luck.

Frustrated, Percy grabbed at his hair before letting out a groan and praying to the gods to find Nico before New Year. You see, he wanted to kiss Nico at 11:59 and stop at 12:01. That way, he was ensured a long, happy year with Nico if he said yes. It would be a perfect ending and a wonderful beginning.

Percy groaned even louder when his eyes drifted toward the cabins and saw the dark Cabin 13 with its Greek Fire torches. How could he have not possibly checked there?! Maybe Annabeth was right about him being oblivious...

The Sea Prince sprinted toward the cabin and knocked on the intricately designed obsidian door. His foot tapped impatiently as he caught his breath. 3 minutes....

A surprised Ghost King answered the door, baffled by Percy's sudden appearance. He was wearing a black shirt and some skinny jeans with his Stygian Iron sword hanging from it. How the guy carried the heavy sword around, Percy didn't know. Nico was kind of squirming uncomfortably under his stare, before Percy snapped out of his daze by Nico saying, "Uh, what's up, Percy?"

Said boy doubled and answered, "Hey, uh, Nico? Do, you, uh, wanttocometothefireworkcelebrationwithme?"

Nico was wearing an even more confused look from Percy's rushed question, and said so, asking, "Repeat that again.. but slower." Percy blushed a bit before repeating, "Do you want to come to the firework celebration with me?"

Nico's eyes widened before he nodded slightly, suddenly finding his black sneakers an interesting sight. "Uhm, sure. But-" He was suddenly cut off by a screech from Percy, the older boy grabbing his wrist and running toward Firework Beach. "We only have 2 minutes to get there! Come on, Nico!!!!!!" Percy's voice screamed over the wind rushing by them.

Nico's eyes widened before he started sprinting on his own, kind of enjoying the wind rushing by the pair. It reminded him of shadow travel. Except less death-defying... They were both breathless by the time they got there, just in time for the countdown from 10.

Percy spun around to find Nico, earthy brown eyes shining brightly with the moonlight. He watched as Nico smiled slightly, counting down with the rest of the campers. It wasn't his special spot, but it would have to do.

And just before they counted down 1, Nico found his lips being captured by Percy, leaving him out of breath once again. Nico could vaguely hear the other campers yell "1!" and "Happy New Year!" accompanied by the popping of fireworks. Nico's body betrayed his mind, melting into the kiss. He was aware of everyone laughing and sharing New Year's wishes, but he was still caught in the kiss.

Finally, after 3 long, heart-melting minutes, Percy released the kiss, but kept the arms encircling his waist, meant to keep him in place during the event. Nico's mouth was about to ask a question, but was interrupted when Percy gently steered his head toward the sky, where a new firework took the fading one's place.

Once again, Nico was short of breath as the final firework popped in dazzling colors, revealing Percy's secret surprise. Slowly, very slowly, Nico turned to the nervous son of Poseidon, who had his hand at the back of his head.

"Percy," Nico said in a low voice, "Do you really mean that?" His mind kept replaying the simple 6 word message, showed to him as a firework in silver, inside a black and green heart. Will you be my boyfriend, Nico? Percy nodded so fast, the son of Hades was distantly worried it would fall off his shoulders.

In response to the question, Nico has but one action. He swept the Sea Prince to him and kissed him again, full on the lips. "Yes," he whispered in Percy's ear, his breath ghosting near it. "Yes."

And that was how their romance began, with a special kiss on December 31st that lasted into January 1st. They replayed the memory every year. And for each half of Percico, it was a New Year with a New Love.

Sooooooo, HAPPY NEW YEAR. As I finish writing this, it is currently 11:57, 3 minutes until New Year. So. I'm cramming to finish it.

I know I said I was going to be on break, but I just couldn't leave you guys without a one-shot for New Year. I hope you all enjoyed.

I hope to back to writing very soon. And I'm sorry about my hiatus. But, until next time.
