A bit of a sequel to the "Servant of Evil" one-shot, because I got inspired by listening to Lizz Robinett's version of the song.

I know that the title of the book is Nico di Angelo/Percico one-shots, but you can forgive me this one time, right? ;p

"Far away at the shore, in a town beside the sea, alone stands a girl staring longingly.."

Bianca stood at the shore of a beach, far away from her kingdom, her simple white dress swaying with the breeze and the thin, brown blanket not being enough to keep away the slight chill.

She held a glass bottle, which contained a piece of paper, tightly in her hands. Bianca's obsidian eyes surveyed the coming sunset, as she remembered a legend Nico had told her so long ago..

~Flashback~

Bianca really did not understand what Nico was doing, or what exactly they were doing at the shore, near the sea where her dress may be sullied.

She watched Nico place a piece of paper into a small glass bottle and send it drifting away to the horizon. He caught Bianca's bewildered look, which the queen tried to cover with an annoyed expression.

"Would you like to try?" Nico asked with a soft smile. "You place a piece of parchment with a wish written on it into a glass bottle. And if it washed away by the sea, then one day, the wish you made will come true."

Trying to save face, Bianca sniffed, "That can't possibly make your wishes come true. That's a game for peasants!" But then she realized how insensitive that sounded and softened her voice to say, "I mean, what use do I have for wishes when I have you?"

Nico chuckled quietly and gazed back at the sea, as though he could see the bottle that had long since disappeared into the sea.

"What did you wish for?" Bianca asked, hesitantly.

Nico smiled at his sister and replied, "For you to always be happy, forever and ever, my queen."

"If that is what you wish, then all you must do is stay by my side," Bianca resolutely stated, "I.. am happiest when I am with you, Nico."

Nico was shocked for a minute, before a slow smile spread across his face, and he made a short bow to Bianca, "So what my queen should wish."

~Flashback End~

Bianca tried to hold back her tears, but to no avail. She collapsed onto her knees into the lapping water of the tide, uncaring of the dress, which was rapidly becoming soaked.

She clutched the bottle ever tighter, pouring her regret and sorrow into the small parchment inside, and then set it into the sea, letting the gentle water pull it further from her place on the shore.

Bianca sat there in the tide for a while, black hair dancing with the wind. The sunset brought with it the blazing bright colors of pink, orange, yellow, red, purple, blue, and so many others that blended together, giving the scene a deceptively serene mood. The ending of another day.

The former queen watched her small bottle of sorrow and hope float away towards the horizon, towards the setting sun, towards a new day.

She stood up from her place in the tide as dusk quickly fell over the quiet town behind her and the empty shore she was on; the rapidly cooling temperature of the coming night making her shiver due to her wet clothes and skin.

Bianca couldn't help but think of her stubborn younger brother. "Stubborn and idiotic, but loyal and compassionate as well," Bianca thought wryly, before another pang of pain made her heart ache.

Everything that had caused Nico to suffer was because of her. Bianca was aware how selfish she had been towards Nico, and now, she regretted it immensely. She was not blind; the queen had heard Nico sobbing alone in his room after she had sent him on his mission to slay the green kingdom peasant. Those heartwrenching cries had been the call of a heartbroken person. All for her. She had pursed her lips tightly as she listened on to his sobs, hands clasped.

He had always been there for Bianca whwn she had needed him most, and he would do anything to protect her. His own sister, ordered the death of the one person Nico had truly loved romantically, brief as the encounter had been. And yet, Nico had stuck by her side, never once wavering in his loyalty. Not even when her sin, not his, had caused his death.

Bianca's eyes glistened with tears again, forcing the horrifying memory from her head, not wanting to cry any longer.

"And you who gave your life to protect mine are no longer by my side. The sea will show you my eternal gratitude. To convey my thoughts to the next life!" Bianca sang quietly.

Bianca saw just a black dot in the distance; what remained of her wish, a fragile glass bottle, holding a lonely girl's message, her quiet tears falling.

"Gods, please, please, please..." Bianca clasped her hands to her chest, "If, we are ever to be reborn.."

A splash directed her attention to her left, head snapping up.

Nico stood there in the sea, wading into the waves, shorts pulled up, much like they had been that fateful day that he had told her that legend.

His gaze never strayed from the rising sun as he whispered, "It would be nice to be twins once again." And then he was gone.

Bianca stood shell-shocked for a split second before she smiled with joyful tears streaming down, "Yeah, it would be," she said in reply.

And she looks up into the rapidly lightening sky from black to light blue, feeling at absolute peace in the present and a resolved hope for the future.
