Chapter 5

Chapter 5: Dares

Rachel:

"Rachel, fuck you." Max says while laughing as Lucy kisses Max's face.

I start laughing because Max was actually scared! As I walk into the kitchen, Max puts down Lucy and follows me.

"This is a nice house. How did you afford this?!" Max asks.

"Well, I had an old job that payed well and I bought this house."
I look around as I grab Lucy's leash and notice it is a pretty big house.

I put the leash on Lucy and we continue to walk out the door telling stories of highschool. I told him the story about how I had a jerk who picked on me and followed me around all day.

"Rachel, in which ways did he "Pick on you?"" He asks concerned.

We're in the car by now buckling our seatbelts. Lucy jumps on Max and sits on his lap.

"I-I don't wanna talk about it." I answer.
I'm not ready to tell him that part.

The tension in the air becomes thicker until Max looks at me with worried eyes and holds my hand to comfort me. I smile at this and start talking again.

"So what was your high school like?"

Time skip to office--

As we got out of the car, I notice Max still holding Lucy.

"Max, y'know you can put Lucy down."
I giggle.

"No!" He says like a child, "I wuv her."

I laugh more as we walk into the office. I see Adam but he's not facing me. Hes talking to Ross. I turn to Max and nod to him. We both know what to do.

Max gets ready to put Lucy down, and I get ready myself. I look at Lucy and scream

"AHHH RUN FOR YOUR LIVES ITS AN ATTACK DOG"
And right on cue, Max lets her go and she goes straight for Adam and Ross.

Adam whips his head around in fear ready to take a blow, only to find a small puppy.

Max and I laugh as Adam gives us a dirty look. Lucy runs back to Max and he picks her up.

"Lucy really likes you, Max." Adam says

"Yeah, I'm good with dogs." Max replies while Lucy gives him kisses.

"Better enjoy those kisses, those are the only ones you'll ever get." Ross laughs.

"Not true!" Max retaliates. "I can get kisses!"

"Oh yeah? Get one girl to kiss you by tonight at 6:00."

I look at Max and he looks at the up at the time at the clock. Its 5:55

"Ross, that's impossible."

"Do it and I'll buy everyone here Ihop" Ross offers
I turn to Max and grab Lucy and put her down to let her wander.
"And if you don't, you buy everyone here Ihop"

"Fuck you, Ross." Max insults.

I can't handle it anymore. I run next to Max and kiss him. The look on his face is priceless and he turns red.

"BOOM! Done." I laugh while throwing my arms in the air.

"DAMMIT." Ross screams while walking away.

I look at Max and he's smiling,
"Oh wipe that smile off ya face" I laugh.
