Chapter 19: Celebrations

Tadashi's first birthday was a small and simple celebration with the gang and Aunt Cass. Hiro planned the whole thing since he wanted to, but I had to admit that it was success.

Since Tadashi's birthday was on February fourth, we celebrated with another small party at the house for his second birthday. 

On valentines day, however, Hiro and I spent the night going out for dinner. Hiro was reluctant to leave Tadashi, like he was every time we went out, but I managed to convince him to let Tadashi stay with Aunt Cass for the night. How did I do it? I gave him a hint at what his present was. It worked like a charm. 

During dinner Hiro had surprised me by saying this, "So (Y/N), I was wondering if maybe tonight you and me could try again and see if we could get a girl this time?" I almost choked, I mean I was surprised that he remembered me saying that I wanted a girl. I just stared at him for a second, but then was able to speak again.

"Yes Hiro!" He smiled and leaned across the table to kiss me. 

I hated the anticipation of waiting, but finally, when I was sure that my period wasn't happening/ going to happen, I took a test, and was happy with the answer.

"We're pregnant again!" I told Hiro.

"We are?" He asked. I nodded my head. He picked me up and gently swung me in a circle.

"Let's hope it's a girl!" He said. I smiled and saw how happy he was with the news of having another baby.

When my fourth month finally came I couldn't stop bouncing on the balls of my feet. We were going to find out the gender!

"Alright... And there." The doctor said. Hiro and I stared at the ultrasound. We could see the baby, but...

"Is it a girl or a boy?" Hiro asked.

"Hard to tell." The doctor said.

"What?" I asked. 

"Well..." The doctor started.

"Well what?" I asked. Hiro grabbed my shoulders, as if that would calm me down. How could the doctor not know the gender of my baby?

"It could be a girl, however..." The doctor said. I rolled my eyes. 

"Oh just forget it." I said. Hiro and I left not knowing the gender of our child.

Waiting the rest of the nine months was agitating. We didn't know the gender and I was so frustrated! On the bright side though, I had hope that it was a girl since the process was different then when I was pregnant with Tadashi. Also during this time we had decorated the second room with typical baby things since we didn't know the gender for sure.

On my ninth month I waited with no patience what so ever. 

"Why won't it come out!" I asked Hiro.

"Because he or she isn't fully developed?" Hiro answered carefully. 

"Exactly! God(s) I want to know already!" I cried the last part. I glanced at Hiro and could tell I was kind of scaring him. My moods weren't this changeable with Tadashi. "Oh you'll be fine, only something many days left." I said. Hiro smiled uneasily, but leaned over to kiss my head. 

"I love you." I said.

"I love you too." Hiro chuckled.

IT WAS FINALLY THE DAY! I had a cramp as I was sitting on the couch.

"THIS HAS TO BE THE FREAKING DAY!" I said to Hiro.

"Let's hope so." Hiro said a little shakily.

"God-" I stopped myself from saying the word. It was my due date and their was no baby! "Why?" I asked my stomach, but then another cramp came. "Now you're lying." I said.

"(Y/N)... I think you're scaring (D/N)." Hiro said. I glanced at the floor, but (D/N) was not there.

"(D/N) or you Hiro?" I asked. Hiro sighed. I laid down though and went to sleep.  

Through out the night, however, I gained no rest, for the baby decided to keep me up with tons of cramps, which also meant that Hiro stayed up. 

"Come on!" I said to my stomach. Hiro groaned. "Hey we're in this together you took a vow." I reminded him. 

Hiro sighed, "I know I did and I don't regret it." 

"I love you." I said and kissed him. 

"I love you too." Hiro smiled.
