A/N: Sorry, but this is a very short chapter.

"Ready?" I asked smiling at (G/N). she nodded her head.

"I can't wait to meet new friends!" She said excitedly. Since she was five she was going to start kindergarten.

I smiled, "What about you Tadashi?" I asked. He would be starting third grade.

He lifted his eyes to my face. The sight saddened me. He wasn't smiling, as a matter of fact, he rarely smiled now. I sighed, but (G/N) caught my look turned to face Tadashi. He quickly changed his frown to a smile. Just for her.

"Have fun." I said from the car.

"Bye Mommy!" (G/N) said. Tadashi kissed my cheek.

"Bye Mom." He said.

"One day." I said. He sighed, but stepped out of the door. I watched him walk into the school.

I visited the cemetery. I lay wildflowers flowers on Mom's grave and store bought ones on Mr. and Mrs. Hamada. Then I stared at the one that said his name. There was no body, no real proof that he was actually gone. He's not gone, I thought, but the question still remained. Where was he?

When it was time to pick the kids up I drove to the school.

"Hey guys how was school?" I asked.

"It was so fun!" (G/N) said.

"That's wonderful (G/N)! Did you make any new friends?" I asked.

"Yes! Their names are  Briana and Sabrina!" She said.

"Awesome," I said. "What about you Tadashi?"

He stared out the window before facing me, " It was good. I have a class with Ty this year."

"That's good." I said.

"Yeah." He replied. His father's absence made him older then he should have been.

That night, after putting the kids to sleep, I crept up to the roof. Apparently, however, I wasn't the only one who could not sleep.

"Mom?" Tadashi's voice said.

"Hey kiddo." I said. He sat beside me and laid his head on my shoulder. We stared at the ocean for a minute.

"I miss him Mom." He said.

"I do too." I whispered.

"When do you think he'll come back?"

"I don't know."
