Chapter 24: New Evidence

Years passed. Years the three of us stood together. How I breathed? I'll never know. How Tadashi lived with only smiling at his sister, I'll never know that either. 

(G/N) was eight, Tadashi was eleven. (G/N)'s ninth birthday would be coming up and Tadashi and I were planning her birthday party. 

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Ow!" Tadashi said.

"What?" I asked running over to him. He sat on his bed, holding his toe.

"I stubbed my toe on the bed." He said. That's when I heard it. A beep, beep! Was that? No, it couldn't be. I turned my head to the closet to see it opening. I held my breath and gasped as Baymax waddled out of the closet. He walked to Tadashi and waved.

"Hello, I am Baymax, you're personal healthcare companion."Baymax said. Tadashi stared in awe at him.

"Baymax..." I said too stunned to say anything.

"Baymax?" Tadashi asked looking at me.

Tears sprang to my eyes as I said, "Baymax where's Hiro?"

Baymax cocked his head to the side, "Last I remember Hiro said, 'I am satisfied with my care.' So I went back to my battery charger." 

"He left you?" I said.

"He said I had to stay for you and Tadashi and (G/N)." Baymax said.

"Can you find him?" I asked not being able to help the hope that coated my voice.

"Not without my suit, but Hiro hid that along with yours." Baymax said. He hid them? Where would he hide them?

"Why did he hide them?" I asked.

"Hiro said that he couldn't risk you getting hurt." Baymax said. That made me mad. This is the second time he's done that. When would he learn? I let out a breath. After four years I had found Baymax and now I still had no idea where Hiro was. 

"Mom, (G/N)" Tadashi said. I sighed, Hiro was gone for four years what's one more day?

"Your right." I said and we got back to work.

"Happy Birthday dear (G/N)! Happy Birthday to you!" We all sang. 

"Make a wish." I said. (G/N) closed her eyes and blew out the candles. As I began cutting the cake and serving, I heard one of (G/N)'s friends ask what she wished for.

"I can't tell you." She said.

"Why?" Another friend asked.

"Then it won't come true." (G/N) said. I smiled.

"Did you have fun?" I asked (G/N) as I tucked her into bed.

"Yes!" She replied. 

"Good." I chuckled. "Goodnight (G/N) I  love you."

"Love you Mommy." She smiled and closed her eyes. I kissed her forehead and slipped out of the room. Tadashi was waiting for me outside.

"What are we going to do?" He asked.

"Look for my suit." I said walking to Tadashi's room where we kept Baymax that day.

"Baymax, did Hiro say anything about where he hid the suits?" I asked. 

"He would't tell me because he knew you would ask me." He said. I groaned.

"Mom did he leave you anything?" Tadashi asked.

"Well when he 'died' everything that was his came to me." I said. Tadashi thought a moment.

"Is there any special place maybe?" Tadashi asked.

"Oh Tadashi I don't know. He probably doesn't want me to find them." I said losing hope.

"But Mom, he left Baymax, that has to mean something." Tadashi said. I stared at his eyes. He missed his dad, and the idea of finding him led him to hope too much. I couldn't break it.

"Maybe, but how will we find them?" I wondered aloud. 

"Maybe he left clues." Tadashi said. I touched my locket thinking. My locket...

"He really isn't dead." I said smiling.

"We knew that Mom." Tadashi said.

"No but I mean he really isn't and that means..." I said smiling at the possibility.

"What Mom?" Tadashi asked. It was late, but maybe they would be okay with this. It was a chance at finding Hiro, why wouldn't they want to help?

"Hold on." I said and ran to get my phone.

"I need you to come over right now." I said to each of the gang when I called them. In a matter of minutes all four came to the house.

"Hi Aunt Honey." Tadashi said when they arrived.

"Hi Tadashi!" She greeted enthusiastically.

"Aunt Gogo!" Tadashi said and hugged her too.

"Hey little nephew." She said

"Hey Tadashi!" Wasabi said.

"What's up man?" Fred asked.

"Uncle Wasabi! Uncle Fred!" Tadashi said. "What are you doing here?" 

"Your Mom called us." Wasabi said. Tadashi looked at me.

"They can help us." I said.

"Awesome!" Tadashi said. 

I smiled, " Okay, this is what I know."
