"You know what sucks." I say to Madi.

She turns her head. "Hmm?"

"This is the last day."

She makes a sad face and wraps her arms around my torso. "I knowww I wanna stay forever."

I smile out at Caspar and Alexus who are splashing each other in the ocean. "Wanna go join them?" I ask her.

She smiles up and me and gets to her feet to quickly run in the salty water.

I watch her for a bit before I join. Her perfect natural beach waves hair bounces behind her tiny body and her short legs carry her there. She's perfect in my eyes.

As I'm out of it, I don't even notice her stop and look at me. "Joe, are you just going to sit there and check me out or are you gunna help me soak our friends?"

I laugh. "I like this view."

She smirks. "You can get this view up close."

I run over to her and she tries to run away but I tackle her in a hug and swoop her off her feet, running into the water with her in my arms.

"Have I ever told you how perfect you are?" I ask.

She shakes her head, blushing. "Your such a cheesy lovey dove."

I smirk. "Would a cheesy lovey dove do this?"

I twist my whole body and throw her into the water.

She comes up, gasping for air. "You ass!" She laughs.

I chuckle and help her up. "But I wouldn't have done that." She grins.

"And why is that?"

A whole waterfall of liquid pours onto my head, salt water in my eyes and nose. I choke and rub my burning eyes. I turn around to see Caspar and Alexus running away, each holding little sand castle buckets.

I spin back around to see Madi. She puts a hand up to her mouth. "Oops." She says innocently with puppy eyes.

I laugh and start splashing her, as our other friends come back to join the splashing.

"Do you wanna come with us?" My dad asks me.

I shake my head. "I'll just stay back."

They nod. "If you need anything, call us please." Mum calls.

I nod and they leave. It would be even more awkward if I came. My foster parents meeting my real mum. Possibly the worst thing that could happen.

I pull out my phone and text Maya.

Well.. there gone.

She immediately texts back.

Want me to come over? I can bring food

I laugh out loud and text back.

Well if there's food involved...

Say no more.

She says nothing after the last text and the door opens in less than 3 minutes. Maya walks in holding a bag of crisps and a jar of salsa.

She holds them up in each hand, shaking them in the air with a smirk on her face. "Care for some supernatural?"

I shrug. "Whatever will bring my mind off of whatever is happening with my parents... and my mum?"
