Joe's Pov

"Joe it's been months. Are you still upset?" Madi asks for the thousandth time.

"No, I'm fine." I mumble back. Which is a lie, I'll probably never get over it.

She sighs heavily. "Then can you please talk to me?"

"I am."

Caspar and Alexus burst into the flat, chatting and giggling loudly. I glare down at Alexus's growing belly.

"Hey guys, what's going on?" Caspar asks, the laughter dying down.

"Just sitting here. The usual." Madi crosses her arms, turning the other way.

"Oh." He replies, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.

I take her comment as an insult. "Well, what would you rather be doing?"

"I dunno, something fun for once." He mumbles sadly.

"If you haven't noticed, Alexus is pregnant." I shake my head.

"Not all of us, just the two of us. All we do is sit here and fight. I haven't filmed a video in weeks." She argues.

"Guys, stop fighting. It's so annoying." Alexus comments, crossing her arms.

"We've been waiting to tell you something." Caspar speaks up, his wife quickly turning her attention to him.

"Right now?" She whispers, biting her lip.

He nods. "It's for the best."

She sighs. "Okay."

Madi and I turn to them, worriedly.

"We're gunna move into our own house." Alexus says awkwardly. "...without you guys."

"What?" Madi gasps. "Why?"

They laugh. "Well, we're pretty much in our thirties and we still live with our best friends." Caspar shrugs. "Plus we have a baby on the way."

I wince at the word.

"If that's what you think is best." Madi frowns.

Caspar and I look to each other. It's kinda a thing we've picked up on over the past few years of being best friends. We can kinda read what each other is thinking just by looking. His face reads that he is super excited about his decision.

I just hope that he will see that I'm unhappy.

He gives me a sad face and turns back to his wife. "Should we go look for more places?"

She nods excitedly and they run into their bedroom, shutting the door behind them.

It's silent between us now, and we awkwardly look around the room without saying anything.

"Well," she finally speaks up. "I guess we could look for a new home too."

I nod. "Okay."

...

Maya's Pov

"Maya?" Mum calls, knocking on my door.

"Yeah?" I whisper, holding a picture of my friends and I together. It was taken when we went mini golfing a while back, one of the funnest nights of my life. I'd do anything to go back to that moment.

She creaks open the door slightly, peeking inside. "Want to go see Chris? I can drive you."

I nod. "Thankyou."

"Tell me when you're ready. I'll be waiting in the lounge. Have you eaten today?"

I nod again, but it's a lie. I haven't had much of an appetite since the events of yesterday.
