Chapter 17

Joe's Pov

Madi didn't come home last night, and I'm freaking out. I drove around and called her at least 50 times and I couldn't sleep last night. Alexus and Caspar aren't home so they wouldn't be any help.

What if I upset her so much that she leaves me? What if she's badly injured right now?

For all I know, she could be dead on the side of the road and it would have been all my fault.

All these thoughts race through my head, and I barely hear the click of the door opening. I race out of the room to see who it is.

"Madi?" I pant with a breath of relief.

She pulls her boots off, almost tripping over her own foot. "Oh, hey Joe."

"Where did you go?" I ask with a hint of anger.

"Just spent the night at Zoe's. Maya's at a sleepover with Jeana and Alfie's out of town at a meeting." She says calmly like nothing happened.

"What the hell?"

She raises an eyebrow. "What?"

"What?" I repeat. "You didn't think to tell me? I called you like ninety seven times."

"Sorry my phone was dead." She answers, holding up her phone.

"Zoe has chargers, doesn't she?"

"Yeah but Zoe has an IPhone and mines a Samsung." She says, coming into the house.

"I was so scared." I frown. "I thought something happened to you."

"Nope!" She laughs.

"Well, good." I say with relief. "But I think we should talk."

She groans. "Do we really have to? I just wanna put all this behind us."

"I can't when there's going to be a baby crawling around reminding me of what I never got." I mumble.

"Wow, that was deep and rude." She says, shaking her head. "In a marriage, shouldn't both sides get a say?"

"Well this is huge!" I sigh. "It's family, it's what you're supposed to do after you're married."

"Not everyone has kids, Joe." She frowns.

I sit down on the sofa and she sits as far away as she can on the other side.

"I just wish I knew this a while ago." I say sadly.

"Why, would we still have gotten married?" She asks, worried.

"Yes, well..."

Her eyes sadden so much, it hurts me.

"I don't know." I finish.

"So thats it?" She asks. "We can't be married?"

"No, of course I still wanna be your husband." I reply. "I just wish you could see what I see."

"We can get a cat." She shrugs.

I sigh, making her look away and sighing with me.

"Okay, I understand." I speak up after about 2 minutes of silence. "You don't like kids. I get it. I shouldn't have gotten so angry, and I'm sorry. If you don't want kids, I won't push you." I smile slightly and roll my eyes. "And maybe we'll get a cat."

She smiles and giggles. "Wow, I never thought you would be the first to give in. I'm very sorry. But I hope we can make it work without hurting both of us."

I nod and stand to my feet, walking over to her. I reach out my hand and pull her up, wrapping my arms around her and her tiny arms around my torso.

"And I like black cats." She smiles into my chest, making me laugh.

We stand there for at least five minutes, holding each other.

"No matter what happens, I still love you." I say, looking in her eyes as she looks into mine.

"I love you too, Joe."

Maya's Pov

"Who's ready to watch some YouTube videos?" Mrs. Mackie chirps as she comes into the classroom.

We cheer in excitement. I'm totally going to get a good mark on this project.

"Who wants to go first?"

Everyone shakes their heads, but Sam raises his hand. "We can do mine."

She claps her hands together and points to him. "Good man, Sam."

He sets it up on the front screen and we turn off the lights. Him and Jack made a truth or dare video with the fans.

"This is so funny!" Mrs. Mackie says in between laughs. "I can't believe your own fans made you eat a tablespoon of mayonnaise."

Sam rolls his eyes, chuckling. "You'd be surprised of all the things I have to eat from them."

The whole class laughs. "Who's next?" The teacher asks

"Maya is!" Jeana yells.

I sigh. "Oh all right."

"Yayyy!" Mrs. Mackie squeals. "I get to see my Phill!"

"Would you rather see him in person though?" I ask, smirking as I open the door. In walks the one and only Dan and Phil themselves.

The whole class gasps and Mrs. Mackie squeals and runs over to hug Phil. Well, she kind of just jumps into his arms.

"Hi?" Phil laughs. Dan shoots her a glare, putting his hands on his hips.

"Hi Phil." She blushes. "Will you marry me?"

"Um..." Phil says nervously.

"At least buy the guy a drink first." Jack chuckles, making us all laugh.

"Who is this woman, Phill?" Dan asks.

"Believe me, I would tell you if I knew the answer to that." Phil stutters.

Our teacher hops out of his arms and pulls him over to a chair. "Come watch Maya's video!" She exclaims, squeezing herself in the chair with Phil.

Dan, still glaring at her, takes a seat next to them.

"You all can get autographs after the video is over." I laugh, watching all the eyes still attached to the two youtubers.

"You guys are making me nervous." Phil giggles.

"Don't be nervous." Mrs. Mackie flirts. "You can hold my hand if you want to."

"Let's just... watch the video please." Dan sighs while rolling his eyes.

We all laugh and I turn on the video, leaning back in my chair.

Everyone laughs through it, so I think its pretty good.

"This is gold!" My teacher laughs. "You're getting the highest mark I can give you. You can thank Phil for about 15% of that mark." She winks at him, making him gulp and look away.

"Okay okay, it was great." Dan says, noticing the wink. "I think we have to go."

Everyone laughs. "Someone's jellyyyy." I smirk at him.

He blushes and stutters up a response. "N-no, I just... whatever, cmon Phil."

He pulls Phil up by the arm and they walk out, Phil waving and saying a quick 'bye' to everyone.

"Phil is even cuter in real life." Mrs. Mackie sighs.

"Is Dan always that?" A kid asks from our class.

"No, only when he's jealous or nervous." I reply, giggling.

"Is Phan real?" One of the girls squeaks.

"God, I hope so." I say, making everyone laugh.
