Zoe Pov
"Are you actually serious?" I say, getting furious.
"Dead serious!" Tan yells.
"She asked that like we were actually going to say yes!" Jim adds. "Who does that? She just said she was glad Jeana was happy."
"So what did you say back?" Alfie asks, bouncing Aaron on his knee.
"We kinda just stared at her with our jaws dropped. And then I stood up and said 'absolutely not' and we left the building." Tanya answers.
"Wow." I reply. "I can't believe that. Are you going to tell Jeana?"
Jim scoffs. "Of course not."
"Why not? It's not like she'd ever agree to go with her."
Alfie shrugs. "Even if she did, she's only 16. She doesn't legally have a say in who she wants to go with."
"But in two years..." Tanya frowns.
"Let's not think about that." Jim says, shaking his head. "Thing is, Jeana is staying with us. That's it."
We go silent.
"Well." Tanya starts. "I think we'd better go."
I frown. "Aw, okay."
They get their things and leave, saying goodbye first.
The door shuts and I turn to Alfie. "I can't believe that."
He nods. "I know, right? That's literally the Janya child."
"At least it wasn't her dad asking. Jim would politely punch him out." I giggle.
Alfie starts cackling. "True."
Aaron starts babbling so I take him to the kitchen to feed him.
"Want me to do it?" My husband asks.
"I got it, thanks Gorgeous."
He smiles at the nickname and goes upstairs to edit a new video.

My notification alert goes off and I pull out my phone to check it.
It's a message from an unknown number.

I laugh quietly to myself.
