Chapter 10

ALICE'S POV

      "What do you think about this?" Tori said holding up a dress."It's nice," I said with a smile. "You are just saying that. Are you ok? Because you haven't really said anything since we been here," she said sitting next to me. She was right, I haven't said really anything since we got to the mall. The reason is that I can't stop thinking about what if Kyle tells my parents? I mean he probably won't but still it could happen. I don't want my parents to find out about Noah and I just yet, because I have no clue how my father would take Noah not being human. "Earth to Alice?" I looked up to see Tori waving her hand in front of my face. "What?" "There you go again Alice . You aren't paying attention to what I am saying. So what is wrong?" I looked at her for a minute before answering. "Well you remember when I told you that Noah and I are mates?" She nodded her head. "Ok, Kyle caught us making out." She looked a little confused. "That's whats bothering you ? Your brother caught you making out. " "Its just not that, he knows we are mates now,and I am really worried that he will tell my dad. I have no clue how my dad would react to him not being a wolf. Even though Noah convinced him to not tell, I still am not sure if he will or not." She sat next to me. "Alice, him out of anybody should know how your father acts with people who aren't a wolf. What I am trying to say is that I am pretty sure he won't tell. " I gave her a warm smile. After we finished talking we continued our shopping. After about two hours worth of shopping, getting our nails,and hair done we are finally going home.

I said good bye to Tori, and walked to my house. I then smelled something that was off. I decided to follow it. I shifted and ran into the woods. After what felt like forever I found the owner of the scent. It was an older man. "Shift." Is all he said to me without turning around. I went behind a near by tree and shifted. I noticed that the older man was standing right outside my territory. "Who are you?" I said to him. He turned around. "I am Kayden. Before you ask I am not a wolf. I'm a Phoenix." I knew something was off about him. "What do you want?" "I am-" Before he could finish a large brownish colored bird appeared next to me. It shifted and there stood Noah. "Why are you here Kayden?!" Noah said, his voice laced with anger. "You know why Noah. I am pretty sure your brother told you." "She doesn't have what you want." He said still sounding angry. "Oh, well I am positive she does." With that Kayden left." I turned to Noah hoping he would explain. He looked at me. "I'm sorry." He said looking down. "What do you mean you are sorry?" I lifted his chin so he would look at me. "I went to see my brother this morning. He said there was going to be a war soon. The war was going to happen between my family and the elders. Apparently the elders think you have something they want. " I just stood there for a minute. "So you are saying that man came here for me?" He nodded his head. "That man was my grandfather. We have to tell your father soon about us. He needs to know about what is coming." I nodded my head. 'Alice it's time for training?' I heard Kyle's voice pop in my head. "I have to head back home. Kyle is waiting for me." I kissed Noah on the cheek good bye, then I shifted.
      

          All the way to my house I kept thinking' what could I possibly have that the elders of the Phoenix want.' Once I got to my house I saw Kyle waiting for me out side the gym. "You are late." He said with a stern look on his face. "Sorry, can we just get to training." He nodded his head and we went inside. While I was jumping rope I kept wondering how I am going to tell my father. The reason is Noah is right, I have to tell my dad what is going on, Even if my dad doesn't approve of Noah and I being mates.  "Alice are you alright?" I looked up to see that I wasn't jumping rope any more and Kyle was standing in front of me. "What?" I managed to say. "I said are you ok? Because you been standing there not doing anything for about five minutes now. " I didn't answer for a minute. "I am fine."  He just nodded his head. Training went on for about another 30 minutes. After we were done, I went to my room and took a bath. The warm water helped me relax some. Once I was done with the bath I got dress into some nicer clothes. I told my mom I was inviting someone to dinner, and she said that was fine.  

     When I walked down stairs I noticed the table was already set. Then I heard a knock on the door. "I'll get it!" I yelled. When I opened the door there stood Noah. He was wearing a formal black shirt and pants. I gave him a warm smile, and pulled him into the house. I lead him to the dining room, where my family sat. My dad however wasn't at the table yet.  "Well Alice are you going to introduce you to your friend?" My mother said with a warm smile. I could tell that my mom knew he wasn't a wolf.  I took deep breath, "Mom this is Noah. He is my mate." She looked at me and then back at him. I then told my mom through mind link 'He knows what we are, and he isn't a wolf, but he isn't a human either. We are planning to explain everything once dad comes.' She just shook her head.  "Well it's nice to meet you Noah." "It's nice to meet you too." Noah said with a warm smile.  I  then heard the back door open. I knew it was my dad. When my dad walked in the room, I could tell that he knew  Noah wasn't an wolf. I was just hoping he wouldn't do anything.  "Alice, who is your friend?" I could tell he was angry about me bringing someone who isn't a wolf in the house. "Dad this is Noah." He looked to Noah and then back to me.  Instead of him saying it's nice to meet you he says, "You know you aren't suppose to bring people like him here." My mother grabbed his shoulder, trying to calm him down.  "I know that father,but Noah and I need to tell you something very important that is going to happen that affect the whole pack pretty much." I said my voice laced with anger. "Fine tell me." "A war is going to happen. Between my family and the elders of my kind." Noah said. My dad gave him a look. "I wasn't asking you."  "Dad will you stop acting like this. A war is about to start and it involves your only daughter. And Noah knows what we are, he knew before I even met him. Also he isn't a wolf, but he isn't a human. He is a phoenix " My dad turn back to me.  "What does this war have to do with you if it involves his family and his elders?" "I am her mate,and the elders believe that she has something they want. WE don't know what yet. " Noah spoke.  "Sweetie, don't be mad at them. At least they did the right thing about coming to you. I know you don't approve of their relationship because he isn't a wolf. But remember my father didn't approve of us,and he put us through hell just because you belonged to another pack. So don't put them through what we went through just because he isn't a wolf. You should focus on the important thing, which is the war that is about to start. " My mother told my dad. I could tell my dad was thinking really hard about this. "Fine, I will focus on the more important things. Tell me everything you know about this war." He said looking at Noah and I . 

       After we explain everything my dad finally said" I am guessing we are going to have to get the pack training more." With that everyone shook their heads and my dad called a meeting with the warrior wolves.  They all went to my dad's study. While Noah,my mom and I stayed downstairs. "Congrats you two." My mom said while going to wash dishes. I gave her a warm smile before she left. Then I lead Noah to my room.  Once we got into my room I plopped on my bed. "Well this is going to be fun." I said looking at Noah who is standing in front of me. "Yeah it sure is. But we will get through it." I sat up, and gave Noah a warm smile. I pulled him so he was sitting next to me.  Then I placed my lips on his. He started to run his fingers through my hair with one hand , while pulling me closer with the other. Then he started to rub circles on my lower back under my shirt. This caused me to let out a soft moan. I placed my arms around his neck, and pulled him closer if that was possible.  He then started to trail kisses down my jaw to my neck. Right then I decided I would ask him what I been wanting to since I met him, "Noah, can I ask you something?" "Sure," He mumbled against my neck. "Can I mark you?"  He paused for a second to look at me. "Yes." He said placing his lips back on mine. I then trailed kisses down his jaw to where his neck meets his shoulder. I then could feel my canines come out and then I marked him.  He then brought my lips back to his. We made out for a couple more minutes then we watched a couple shows together.  I could feel my eyes starting to get heavy. Then I fell asleep.  

Noah's POV

     After Alice and I made out , we just laid in her bed and watched tv.  I looked over to see that Alice fell asleep. I then slowly got out of the bed, making sure not to wake her, and walked to the bathroom. Once I got in there I looked in the mirror and pulled my shirt back to see where Alice marked me. To be truthful it looked kind of cool. It was a small crescent moon shape.  I can't believe something this little can hurt so much at the beginning  and then feel amazing at the end.  Once I got out of the bathroom I saw that Alice was still asleep, I then turned the tv off and kissed Alice's forehead goodnight. Then I left went to her window, opened it and shifted and went to the tree I was sleeping at. Once I got to my tree I fell asleep happy , that her dad wasn't going to do anything to us.
