BAILEY'S POV*

Right now Catía and I are in science. Apparently, we are supposed to do something cool.
"Okay, today we are going to make magical birthstones," Mr.Dunn explained. The boys obviously groaned.
"There is no such thing as magic." A boy shouted

"Lame!" Another boy shouted

But Mr.Dunn kept on talking "Okay um... Bailey."

"Yes, Mr.Dunn?" I replied

"Could you pass everyone a paper please?" He asked

"Sure," I mumbled.

Yeah I do like attention but I hate going up in front of the class. I mentally checked if my hair wasn't out of place, my clothes, and if there was anything stuck on my shoe. Luckily nothing was out of place. Then I started passing out the papers.

"When you get a piece of paper I want you to write your birthday and your zodiac sign," Mr.Dunn said
I finally sat down and I wrote
March 23 Aries
I took a peek Catía's paper and she wrote
July 22 Cancer
"Now for your guys' homework, you will have to find a rock and paint it the color of your birthstone," Mr.Dunn said
"Want to do our homework together Catía asked. I nodded back in agreement.
Rinnnnnggg
Yes, the bell. Catia, as usual, took her time.
"Come on Catia it's the end of the day," I whined
"Oh be quiet besides we have nowhere important to go." Catia snapped back
"Touché." I mentally rolled my eyes.

We were looking around town for jewels.
"Ughhh....... Bailey why can't we just rocks, we will never find jewels in this boring town." She whined
"But will it hurt to try?"I replied
"Yes!" She shouted back.
After hours of searching, we found a cave. Or a mine.
"Oh hell no! Bailey, it's too dark in there." She cried
"That's why I brought flashlights," I said in a duh tone
"Nope, I'm staying out here." She objected
"Okie, but if La Llorona (The Weeping Woman) gets you, it's not my fault," I said
She screeched and grabbed a flashlight. I chuckled to my self. We stood there in shock. The cave was full of jewels.
"Come on Catia grab your birthstone." I started searching for my jewel.

We saw two glowing jewels, our birthstones!
"They actually are magical," Catia said quietly. I nodded slowly.
"You know what?" I said
"What?"She questioned
"They are big enough to be cut in half and when can make a necklace and use the other half for our homework," I suggested
"Yeah, they can be like friendship necklaces." She added
Just if the universe heard our conversation they split in half and a melody started playing then singing,
I'm feeling electric tonight cruising by the coast
Going about 99
I got my bad baby by my heavenly side
It was our song! We started dancing and singing along. I never felt so happy but astonished at the same time.

When the song was over we got the jewels and started heading home. I thought to myself

Magic does exist
