A week has passed and Shaley and her little minions haven't even looked at us. Almost everyone knew what happened but some morons tried tweaking the story and making up some really stupid stuff that we were in a gang or we had supernatural powers. But Bailey and I just ignored them.
"Hey I need to talk to Mrs. Murphy before class so your going to be by yourself for a lil' bit okay?" Bailey told me
"Yeah, sure it's okay."I replied. She hugged me and ran to class. Since I was by myself everyone was staring at me.
I shouted "How about you take a picture so it will last longer!" I was irritated with everyone.
I stomped away to class but I heard someone call my name, I turned around and saw that it was Victor.
"Catía wait up." Victor shouted
"Aren't you supposed to be with Shaley?" I mumbled
"I rather be with you than her, besides I needed to ask you something?" Victor said while running his hand through his hair.
"Y-yeah what is it?" I stuttered.
What if he was asking me to the dance???
"Umm.... How am I supposed to say this. Do you really have supernatural powers?" Victor asked.
My heart felt like it dropped all the way to my stomach. I wanted to dig a hole and never come out. Why would I ever think Victor would ask me to the dance.
"No." I mumbled, I looked down at my feet. "I'm gonna go."
"Wait, Catía!" Victor shouted. I couldn't even turn around I just kept walking faster to class.
I stumbled into class three minutes early. I dropped everything on my desk and I let the tears flow out. How could I have been so stupid? I sobbed like crazy. Until someone said my name.
"Catía?"
I turned around and saw that it was Luke. I dried my tears and I wrapped my arms around Luke's neck. He wrapped his arms around my waist, I rested my heard on his shoulder. His hugs felt so warm and comforting.
"Yeah?" I replied
"I need to ask you something?" He took a deep breath "Come in!" Right when he said that a dozen people came in holding a banner and it said
CATÍA,WILL YOU GO TO THE DANCE WITH ME?
I turned around and saw Luke holding a bunch of roses.
"Will you accept?" Luke asked. I was in tears, tears of joy!
"Yes, of course!" I shouted. People started cheering and clapping. I wrapped my arms around Luke. And I felt him kiss me lightly on my forehead.
Finally I have a date! And it was someone who couldn't make many happier, who could make me forget about my worries. And I never knew it would be my best friend.
