Act 01

Hansuke's POV

Scripts. Do you believe that our lives are already predetermined? Everything that happens to us, everyone that we meet, even unexpected events like a friend visiting you in the middle of the night because "they just want to" and caught you off guard. All of those are scripted. Just as Shakespeare said, the world is a stage and all the men and women are merely actors.

I believe in that.

We are just actors. We have nothing to do but to follow the script that was made for us. And we don't have the authority to change it.

"Hansuke-chan! Please prepare the wardrobe!" One of the actresses called. Everyone is busy at the backstage. Scurrying around back and forth. Of course. Today is the last day of rehearsals for the play for the school festival.

The Theater Guild is always active during school activities. They always have something to prepare for the audience. And all of their presentations are a success. And I... I'm always behind the beautiful lights and the fancy decorations and props.

Its not like I'm being ordered around by everyone. No. Its just, I think I'd just let the stars of the Theater Guild do the stage job while I'll be just the supporting act, backstage.

"Okay! Final act! To your positions! Now!" The director clapped her hands authoritatively. The actors and actresses went to their designated positions.

"Now! Three! Two! One! Action!" The director clapped her hand once and so the spotlight was set into the lead man.

"Yamada! Wait! Please! Don't run!" The lead man delivered his lines flawlessly and emotion packed. The spotlight was still on him while the other spotlight is following the running lead actress as she runs towards a platform that looks like a balcony. She was already on the platform. The lead actor followed her.

"Yamada-" The actor turned to speak but suddenly a loud creak was heard and the whole platform collapsed and entombed the lead actress. Everyone gasped and rushed to her.

"I...It hurts!!" She groaned in pain while she is on the arms of the lead actor. What a perfect match. They even look like a real couple even without the scripts on them. I looked at the two, fascinated.

"Hansuke-chan? Hansuke?" One of the actresses waved her hands in front of me to nab my attention from the two.

"Hansuke-chan?" She stood up?

"Ah?! Yes? Did you need anything?" I asked.

"Can you please request a wheelchair or a stretcher from the School Clinic? I think Ayumi-chan had a sprain." She said with a worried look.

"Right away!" I nodded and hurried to the clinic. The lead actress was taken to the clinic to rest.

Everyone in the Theater guild went to the clinic to see what happened to Ayumi-chan. I returned to the theater hall to check things out. When I entered the hall, I found the lead actor on one of the seats treating his own scratches with a bottle of alcohol and some cotton.

"Huh? I thought everyone went to the clinic to check Ayumi-chan..." I said inquisitively.

"Hmmm...? I thought so... Why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be there?" He looked at me with his stunning brown eyes.
