Chapter 10

Jacob woke up with Connie laid on his chest, the sun was streaming through the curtains and lighting up the whole room. He smiled down at her and kissed her forehead.

'Morning.' She mumbled sleepily, with her eyes still closed.

'Morning, how are you feeling?' Jacob asked her.

'I haven't slept like that, well, in forever.' She replied, opening her eyes. 'Would you like a coffee?'

'Please.' He answered, smiling at her again.

'Be back soon.' She told him, kissing his cheek before climbing out of the bed.

'It's a lovely day today, isn't it?' Jacob asked, cuddling Connie from behind. Connie simply nodded in reply and looked out of the window. She could see the bay, and it was really beautiful, with golden sands and clear blue sea. It looked so romantic.

'Why don't we go down to the bay?' Connie suggested.

'Don't see why we couldn't.' Jacob nodded.

'Good, I'll just jump in the shower.' Connie smiled she then kissed his gently on the lips and hugged him, leaving Jacob smiling to himself.

They walked hand in hand along the beach. They both felt totally calm. Connie had never felt like this about anyone, and for Jacob it was the same. He didn't want to tell her how he truly felt, as he thought that it would make Connie realise she didn't feel as strongly as she did. Connie didn't want to tell Jacob as she thought that it would mean that she would lose him, as she felt she lost everyone she loved. But, for now, both of them were content.

'I want to take you over to one of the other islands, its called Tresco. There's hardly anyone on that island, and I thought it would be a great spot for a night picnic.' Jacob told her, breaking the silence.

'Sounds perfect.' Connie smiled back, squeezing his hand.

Jacob wanted to make Connie feel special, after everything with Ollie and all the other countless horrible things she's been through in her life, he thought she deserved some care and attention. He also wanted to make her feel loved.

They continued their walked along the beach, barley speaking a word, but simply enjoying each others company.
