'Connie? Is everything alright?' Jacob asked, noticing the worried look on her face.

'Bad dream.' She replied, not making direct eye contact with him.

'What was it about?' Jacob asked again, becoming worried about her.

'Doesn't matter.' She looked at Jacob and then looked away again.

'Of course it matters, Connie.'

'Leave it Jacob.' She told him sternly

'Connie, we should talk about these things.' Jacob gently said.

'I said leave it Jacob! I don't want to talk about it!.' She glared at him before storming out.

Jacob's heart dropped and he sighed. He thought he was doing the right thing by getting trying to get her to talk, but maybe it wasn't. He hadn't expected her to act that way, and he didn't fully understand why she had acted like that.

Connie knew she probably shouldn't have treated Jacob like that, and storming out was the wrong thing to do, but she felt like she needed some air and space before she apologized to Jacob. She just needed some time to cool down.

She entered Grace's room and smiled at her 'Would you like to go to the beach with me?' Connie asked, standing in the doorway.

'Yeah!' Grace exclaimed, she was sat in bed reading a Harry Potter book.

'Right, go downstairs and have some breakfast and I'll pack a bag of spare clothes and towels.' Connie said, as Grace got off her bed and closed her book.

'Okay, be back up soon.' Grace smiled at her, before hugging her and walking past her.

Connie packed a rucsac full of spare clothes and four towels, two for them to sunbath on and two to dry themselves with if they go swimming.

When Grace came back up to the room, Connie was tidying it up.

'You only got her lat night, and you've already made it into a pigsty.' Connie raised an eyebrow at her, causing Grace to chuckle.

'Can we go now?' She asked, finding some sandals and putting them one.

'Sure.' Connie smiled at her.

Grace pulled the rucsac on her back and ran down the stairs and out the front door, waiting for Connie outside.

'Jacob, I'm taking Grace to the beach. I'll see you later.' Connie quickly told him and she walked down the stairs, she then walked away, not giving him chance to respond.

'Mum! Look how beautiful it looks!' Grace shouted, from the waters edge, Connie was sat around halfway up the beach.

Connie simply smiled as Grace ran towards her and sat beside her.

'Right. Half an hour more, then I'll buy you an ice cream on the way to the shop. Deal?' Connie asked, laying down on the towel.

'Why do you need to go to the shop? I thought we had enough food?' Grace asked back suspicously.

'I was....well I was quite rude to Jacob earlier and I need to make him an apology lunch.' Connie told her.

'Oh, was it to do with me?' Grace sounded very concerned.

'No! I just was reluctant to talk to him when he was only trying to help me, and I stormed out.' Connie truthfully told Grace.

'So, what are you going to cook?'

'Hmmm, he likes lasagne, so I'll cook that and I'll buy a cake for afters.' Connie decided.

'Good idea. Can I help?'

'Of course you can honey.' Connie smiled, hugging Grace.

'Jacob! Mum wants to talk to you!' Grace shouted up the stairs.

'Grace!' Connie exclaimed, slightling annoyed.

'What? You do want to talk to him.' Grace replied sarcastically, before grabbing her plate of food and walking through to the lounge.

Connie shook her head and moved her and Jacob's food to the table.

'What's this?' Jacob asked as he entered the room.

'To apologise for earlier. I was wrong to act like that, I'm sorry.'
