'You don't need to apologize.' Jacob gently said, walking closer to her.
'Yes, I do. I was rude to you for no reason.' Connie told him, sitting down at the table.
'I was sticking my nose in.' Jacob told her, earning a glare from Connie. He chuckled and sat down at the table.
They both ate in silence, stealing glances at each other when the other wasn't looking.
'I'm not really very good at talking. No one usually cares about how I feel, so I don't tell them. As a concequence, I think I now find it hard to talk about feelings. I will try to, but it may take a while for me to get used to opening up.' Connie explained, using a paper napkin to wipe her mouth.
Jacob smiled at her reassuringly, and placed his knife and fork on his plate. 'I will try not to push you when you clearly don't want to talk. But, you know a problem shared is a problem halfed.'
'I've sort of learnt to deal with it in my own way.' Connie told him, quietly as though she was ashamed.
'How about at least once a day, I ask you how you're feeling? And then you answer me honestly. Will start with that, and then it will be easier for you, yeah?' Jacob suggested, picking up both Connie and his plates and putting them in the dishwasher.
'Okay.' Connie nodded, before looking at Jacob and sighing. 'What did I ever do deserve you?' She got up and walked over to Jacob.
'You are honestly the most amazing person ever.' Jacob said, placing his arms around her waist.
'Thank you.' Connie whispered, putting her hands around his neck as they kissed.
Grace walked into the room, before realising what they were doing.
'Ew! Do you have you?' She wailed, covering her eyes. This caused Connie and Jacob to laugh as they broke apart.
'Sorry honey.' Connie laughed, walking over and pulling Grace into a hug.
'I have an idea.' Jacob announced suddenly.
'Uh oh, that never ends well.' Connie joked, causing Grace to giggle.
'I will ignore that comment Mrs. Beauchamp. But, seeing as its our last day, I thought we could run down to the supermarket, buy around 5 DVDs, lay out pillows and cushions in the lounge and have a move marathon.' Jacob explained.
'Awesome! Can we mum?' Grace jumped with happiness.
'I don't see why not. You two can go and get the DVDs whilst I lay out the pillows and cushions.' Connie replied.
'Come on Jacob!' Grace shouted, running out to the front door.
'See you in a bit.' Jacob smiled, before kissing her and walking towards Grace.
'Don't forget the popcorn!' Connie called after them.
'Hey Mum, we got 5 movies.' Grace said, walking in the door.
'Which ones did you get?' Connie asked.
'Pitch Perfect, Stuart Little, MockingJay Part one, Deck the Halls and Johnny English.' Grace told her proudly. 'We also got Sweet Popcorn, Salty popcorn and caramel.'
Jacob poured all the popcorn into three seperate bowls and walked through to the lounge whilst balancing a third bowl on his forearm.
'I think we're going to have a fun night.' Grace grinned, pulling out all the DVDs and walking through to the lounge.
Connie had placed a duvet on the cushions and pillows, under which Jacob was already laying. The curtains had been pulled and Grace was putting Stuart Little into the DVD player.
Connie climbed under the duvet next to Jacob and held his hand under the duvet. Grace ran into the kitchen and returned with three plastic cups and a big bottle of Cherryade. She placed them by the sofa before climbing in next to Connie and grabbing the remote.
'Lets start!' Grace smiled, before pressing play and letting the film start.
