Chapter 15 ~ Beach

Me: .. Do I know you?

Three bubbles appear, this Calum is typing. Isn't this the guy that Reece told me not to talk to or something? Should I tell him?

My phone buzzes.

"Calum": Oh um im Calum Hood. sorry, i think i just texted the wrong number.

I search up Calum Hood really quick and find out that he was in that 5 Seasons of Summer band. He grew up in Australia, like me, and his bandmates are three boys whose names are:

Michael Gordon Clifford,

Luke Robert Hemmings,

and Ashton Fletcher Irwin.

I like their middle names. This band originated in April in 2011, but the drummer, Ashton, joined in December of that year.

Reece, Mom, and Dad told me not to talk to this, Calum. I wonder why. I reply to him.

Me: No wait, do u actually know me? answer honestly please

Calum: Yes.

I asked Calum if he could meet me somewhere, the beach. He said he would later tonight, at 8 or so when the sun starts setting. Maybe this isn't a safe idea.

I stay in my clothes I wore today and head downstairs at 7:40pm. Mom stops me from going out the door asking, "Where are you going?"

"I'm going to walk around with Rylie and do some girl stuff, I'll be back soon." I lie, Mom nods slowly and lets me out the door. I start my walk to the beach.

My phone buzzes while I'm walking. I check it.

Calum: I'm here

Me: I'm almost there.

The view of the beach is in my sight with only a few cars in the parking lot. I see a boy on his phone and I look on my phone. Calum's typing. The boy is typing. The boy is Calum.

Me: I see you

I hit send and he reads it. Calum looks up and waves, walking over to me. I slowly walk to him.

"How do you know me?" I ask.

"Why don't I tell you over a walk on the beach?" He suggests.

"You could be a murderer or something, trying to capture me. Tell me, now." Calum sighs and goes to his phone. He scrolls up through something.

"Look, that's me and that's you. Enough proof?"

"Could be photoshopped." I shrug.

"What about your pictures?" He asks, gesturing to my phone.

"What about them?"

"Check the first couple." I raise an eyebrow and get my phone, going to the 'photos' app and scrolling up. Oh. What's this. Why does it feel like.. my head starts hurting.

Memories. No. I don't wanna faint again. No, I won't allow it.

"Wow." I mumble. "Calum, you.. I guess it was for the better of both of us." I look at the ground.

"A walk? On the beach?" He asks.

"I guess." I sigh. We start walking over to the sand. I take off my shoes and socks and walk in my bare feet.

"How do you forget?" Calum looks over at me.

"Things happen. I faint and I guess.. amnesia takes over the heartbreak and everything in that relationship we had."

"Amnesia? Damn." I hear him whisper to himself.

"What?"

"Oh, nothing. So, uh how have you been?" He asks awkwardly.

"Calum, you know how I've been." I answer.

"Okay, look." He gestures for me to sit down on the sand. I sit and he plops down right next to me.

"Yes?"

"We've kinda been in this situation, right?" 

"Yeah, on the bus sorta kinda." I let out a small chuckle.

"Yeah, and-" I cut him off.

"Cal, before you say anything that might hurt me, let me say something." He nods, prompting me to go on. "You said you loved me, back in Australia. It was the day before I left I think, anyways, I do still love you but I think that I need to forget. Calum Hood, I don't know if I want you in my life anymore. It causes these bad things."

"Is there any way I can fight for you?" He asks.

"I don't think so, goodbye." I get up and start walking away. I look back and see Calum grabbing handfuls of sand and letting it slide through his fingers. When he's just a tiny speck, I hear him yell;

"JESSICA ROBINS, I LOVE YOU. I LOVE YOU AND I'LL LOVE YOU FOREVER." and I swear, I heard him softly yell a goodbye.
