Fullmetal Alchemist and the Flight of the Anti-Social Butterfly

Chapter 1: An Awkward First Meet

     Edward's relationship with Winry did not work out very well due to too much fighting with each other and Winry caring more about Edward's automail than his own flesh so their relationship was as good as over.   A few months after the breakup, Edward was taking it easy at the beach with Alphonse while taking a swim in the ocean.  Just as a tidal wave approached, it knocked a young girl around Edward's age and height into him.   Edward asked, "Are you ok, Miss?"   The girl was too scared to speak because she had no confidence in talking to boys. In fact, she was brutally abused by a few boys so she had two automail legs.  Not only that, but she had a social problem because of how she was treated.   She had autism, but little did she know that she was being hunted down to become a sacrifice by a mob of people who wanted her to become the one who resurrects the Homunculus by turning her into one too then having her continuously breed until the next generation of Homunculus took over the world.  Since Father failed miserably a few years ago, the next generation could be that much stronger!   But this girl was unaware of their plans which was unfortunate for her. 

       Edward held out his hand and said, "I want to help you.  My name is Edward and I have my brother, Alphonse, with me.  May I ask for your name, please?"  The girl stuttered at first then she slowly said, "D-d-d....DeAnna.  My name is DeAnna.  Please, I want to be alone now!"  Edward was confused as she swam away.   He asked, "Was it something I said?"  Alphonse told Edward, "It could be that we are strangers or she simply doesn't trust us."   Then the boys saw her going back to the shore where a Husky-Chimera hybrid with automail legs had waited for DeAnna.  As DeAnna threw a frisbee into the air, she shouted, "Go get it, Zoe!"  Then her faithful companion had leaped into the air and caught the frisbee.  DeAnna shouted, "Good girl, Zoe!  Now please bring it back to me, ok?"  Instead of returning it to her human master, Zoe sensed a trustworthy person in Edward so she swam to him.  DeAnna shouted, "What is wrong with you, Zoe?  Don't you know that I am your master?"  Zoe whimpered then looked at Edward and looked back at DeAnna with a playful bark.   Edward told DeAnna, "It seems that your chimera pet is encouraging you to play and socialize with other people.   You know, I once had a friend who was a female chimera that actually talked.   But she died a long time ago." DeAnna screamed, "So you kill chimeras?!  You monster!"  Edward frowned and explained, "Please listen to me.  I would never kill anybody.  I actually like your chimera because she is like Nina without the voice, but with automail instead." 

      Then DeAnna decided to listen as they all sat on the beach and they ate sandwiches together.  Alphonse was too busy admiring Zoe, but at least DeAnna heard the story of what happened to Nina.  Slowly, she began to understand so she apologized to Edward.  Even though Edward accepted her apology, he also explained that she hurt his feelings.  Zoe looked at DeAnna and whimpered.  DeAnna nodded then she slowly walked up to Edward to give him a hug.  There were several times where DeAnna ran into Edward and Alphonse including the carnival, a local restaurant, a library, and more.   Edward and Alphonse learned of what this mob was planning to do to DeAnna which involved pinning her down to an altar and injecting the fluids that would turn into a Philosopher's Stone once it had gotten inside of her body.  Only then could she become the new darkness that breeds more evil in the world as a new generation of Homunculus was born.   As much as Edward didn't want to kill anybody, he and Alphonse had to teach them a lesson.  As the brothers began to battle the mob of people, little did they realize that Zoe came to fight by their side.  The threesome had won or so they had thought.  Then they heard screaming from a girl's voice that shouted, "Get your hands off of me, you creeps!  Edward!!!!!!!!  Please, save me!!!!!!"  Then as they saw DeAnna being carried in a giant net, the three chased after her and her captors.
