Part 17 - Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday!

5 months later ~

It was December 24,and it was almost Christmas eve. It was 10:57 A.M. and you were all getting ready to open presents. There was just one person missing - Levi. It wasn't because he wasn't coming,but because you guys didn't invite until 12:00 A.M.. Why? It was because it was his birthday,and you all planned a mini party for him. Knowing Levi he would probably be 5 minutes early. Which was perfect since the kids had to open their presents,too.

As you were just finishing hanging Christmas lights all along the inside of the house,Eren came in covered in snow. You almost had a heart attack as your hair stood on edge from seeing the snow Eren was tracking inside of the house.

"Eren! The snow! Clean your boots!" you shouted next to his ear,scaring him.

He looked down and gave you an apologetic smile as he walked back to the porch to shake himself off. Once he came back in you asked him about the lights outside.

"Did you finish hanging the lights outside?"

"Yeah. Although I did fall off the ladder coming back down" he said with a shy smile "but none the less I did it."

"No wonder you were covered in snow." you said smiling back at him.

You and Eren came up with a pattern with the Christmas lights. On the outside you two decided to put all the white lights,and on the inside all the colorful lights were hung all along the walls. It actually looked pretty good. Plain and beautiful outside,and on the inside colorful and amazing. You made hot chocolate and offered everyone some. The kids looked so happy running around playing with their toys together and drinking their hot chocolate. Although they would get tired fast they were happy which made you happy. They were still only 1 so it's expected for them not to be so active.

After about an hour of everyone arguing on what to watch you all heard a knock at the door. You all stayed quiet,and you got up to open the door but Eren beat you to it. Opening the door Eren let him in and once he noticed you guys all relaxing he just stood there. Nobody was saying anything - they were still arguing. As Levi walked toward all of you,you cleared your throat to get everyone's attention. Everyone turned their attention to Levi.

"Happy Birthday!!!" they all yelled,but Levi kept walking.

He went up to Hanji who had gotten the control and snatched it away from. He looked at us pissed.

"Why the hell are you guys arguing?"

"......" nobody said anything until Eren finally asked "What?"

"You know what. You were arguing,why? For a controller?"

"Actually it was for the movie we would watch." Mikasa cut in correcting him.

"Shut-up,whatever it was you aren't suppose to argue over something so stupid. Especially today."

"Yeah guess you're right,Levi." Erwin said getting up.

"Wait. Why are you being so inspirational,all of a sudden?" you asked with a suspicious look.

"I'm always inspirational,and it's Christmas."

"...and your birthday..." Hanji muttered.

"shut-up"

You offered Levi some coffee or hot chocolate,but he declined and went for his usual tea. When it was exactly 12 A.M. Hanji passed out the gifts while you helped. You all got presents,but the kids got the most - of course. Afterwards it was time for Levi to cut the cake,and after an hour of begging he finally gave in. As he cut the cake,Jean came up behind him and smashed his face into it. All you saw was Levi slowly lift his head up as your brother was laughing - the only one laughing. Then a punch from Levi and Jean holding his face on the floor. You burst out laughing as Hanji did,too. While Armin and Erwin sighed seeing how stupid their family could be.

I guess Levi had enough because you saw him grabbing his coat and heading for the door. 

"Wait! Where you going!?" you shouted going after him.

"I'm leaving." he said opening the door.

"Wait,why are you leaving?"

"I just have to go. It was fun,and I'll visit another day."

You were going to say something else,but Saluna pulled on your pants. You looked down and asked her what she wanted.

"Can I go?"

"With Levi?"

"Yesh."

"Why do you want to go with him?"

"Birthday today?"

"Yeah,but I'm not sure Levi can handle taking care of you." you said laughing a bit. You saw Levi's eye twitch.

"I'll come visit you tomorrow,okay? I just have to go." Levi said with a bit of urgency in his voice.

"...."

"I promise. Now go play with your toys." she nodded and ran off to join Eren,Jr,Hanji,and Jean on playing dress up.

"Ok,so I'm leaving and I'm taking this." he said holding a piece of cake.

"I thought you didn't really like sweets?"

"I don't,but this isn't for me."

"Are you sure you can't stay with your family a bit longer?"

"Yes,I'm sure. Sorry for leaving so soon." he said walking out the door. "...but you guys aren't the only family I have now..." he said more to himself,but you still heard it.

"Wait,could it be that...." you mumbled talking to yourself.

Eren saw you standing there by yourself and waved you over. Pushing the idea aside you decided to join them in playing,watching movies,and drinking hot chocolate. You saw Jean wearing one of your dresses. You didn't even want to ask and just started watching the movie that Armin and Erwin were watching. Then halfway through the movie you noticed Mikasa was missing.

You went into the kitchen and saw her standing there looking out the window with a coffee mug in one hand and her phone in the other. 

"You okay Mikasa?" she turned around and looked at me.

"Yeah...just thinking."

"About what?"

"Well,Levi just sent me this text,and I don't know how to reply."

She handed you the phone and you read it. It said...'Hey,Mikasa. This is just a 'What If' question but what would be your reaction if I told you I had a kid?'

"What?" you whispered

"You read it,right? So what do you think? Seems a little suspicious don't you think?"

"Yeah it does."

"I'm still not sure about my answer,but it just seems weird that he actually said 'hey or hi'."

"What? Mikasa..." you face palmed.

"Hmm? Don't you think it's suspicious?"

'Merry Christmas...my crazy family...'

I know this might be a bit too late,but I barely finished this because I started it on christamas,but I never got to it till now. Sorry guys!
