Taken In

I get to a small clearing and stop for a bit.
Why didn't I kill her?
I could've had more time to escape!
I never saw the day I'd be in trouble with the cops!
Why did all of this happen?
Everything happens for a reason, doesn't it?
I can't think of any reasonable answer to all of this!
I sit down on the trunk of a large tree.
Everything is going by so fast and I don't know what to make of it!
I lean my head back and catch my breath.
I can hear footsteps coming towards me and look around.
It's only Toby and Jeff.
I get up, embrace them, and exclaim, "I'm so glad you're here!"
"(y/n), we're so glad you're safe! I heard sirens through the phone!" Toby shouts, relieved.
Suddenly, everything goes black.
I awake in someone's room.
It's not Toby's, the bed sheets are red and black.
Someone walks in and I hide under the covers.
"Still asleep?" a voice sighs.
"I wonder what happened. One moment, you're hugging us, happy, the next, you go limp. Toby and I thought you were dead. We took you home and now you've been sleeping for a week." the voice continues.
I've been asleep for a week?
I don't even remember what happened.
I stop hiding and sit up.
Jeff is surprised to see me awake.
This time, I woke up fully clothed, so I guess that's a good thing.
"(y/n)?!?! You're awake!" he shouts and embraces me.
"I don't even know what happened." I state.
"Where's Toby?" I ask.
"He's been in his room, grieving. We both thought you'd never wake up! Slender told us that you had gone into a coma for unknown reasons." He explains.
"Don't think I'm so weak. I would wake up and here I am! I'm just glad I'm not being chased by the cops anymore." I state.
"Well, about that... The police are sorta looking for you... They found yours and Toby's fingerprints on that hatchet. But I have some good news! Slender has decided to take you in."
"Really?!?! That's great! Not so great that the police are still after me, but amazing that I don't have to be homeless!"
"Do you want to go see Toby? He's really worried about you."
I nod and we start heading to Toby's room.
Jeff walks in first and I wait behind the door.
He looks back and begins to play along.
"Is she a-awake?" Toby asks.
He sounds as if he's been crying.
"No, not yet. It seems like she'll never wake up." Jeff answers, gloomy.
"It's hopeless! Sh-she's g-gone." he shouts.
I run in, yelling, "No I'm not!", and hop into Toby's arms.
He hugs me back, tightly.
"Oh, (y-y/n)..." he stutters.
"I love you. Don't ever leave us like that again!" he whispers.
I put my head back.
The time seems right, and we get closer, closer, closer, until our faces meet.
We let go and I whisper, "I love you too."
He blushes.
"Okay, enough, enough! Remember I'm here too!" Jeff shouts.
I get off of Toby.
"Well, I love her and she loves me back!" Toby shouts back.
"I love her too! She's mine!"
"No, she's mine!"
I laugh.
"It's okay! I love both of you!" I yell.
"Wait, what?!?!" they say in unison.
"Yeah, I love both of you. If we have an open relationship, then it would work. That is, if you approve. I want you both to be happy!" I explain.
"I guess I approve, if it makes you happy. Do you, Jeff?" Toby asks.
"Hell yeah! When it comes to sex, we'll have sweet, sweet threesomes!" he shouts.
"Jeff!" I yell, embarrassed.
I see that Toby is blushing.
He's probably thinking of the scene.
I have to get that image out of my head!
Thanks a lot, Jeff!
Now I'm thinking about sex!
"If we have a kid, that'll be a little confusing and weird, but we'll get used to it." Toby states.
"Wow, wow, wow, I don't plan on having kids anytime soon!" I shout.
We all laugh.
It's better this way.
We're all happy, laughing, in fact.
I couldn't wish for much more!
We're all fools who have fallen in love!
They love me and I love them equally, maybe even more back.
We lay down on Toby's bed, just staring at the ceiling.
We're all murderers in our own world.
Someone's phone rings.
It's Toby's.
"Sweetie? Honey? Please answer me! I need to see you one last time! I knew you were still alive! I don't care if you killed someone! I NEED to see you again!" a voice says, since we, of course, let it ring.
"What are we going to do?" I ask.
"Toby, let's just give her what she wants. She wants to see you again." Jeff answers.
"It's not that simple. We could get caught. It could be a trap just to get me arrested. We can't take that chance! If any of us gets caught, we'll be put in the electric chair. I would love to see my mom again, it's just that I can't."
He has a point.
His phone rings again.
"Just do it man. Pick up the phone. Put it on speaker if you want. You're lucky you still have a little bit of a family." Jeff states.
"Fine." Toby replies.
He gave in and answered the phone.
He does put it on speaker, though.
"T-Toby?" a voice questions.
"Uh, yes?" Toby answers, clearly afraid of what the next words may be.
"I-I thought you'd n-never pick up! I need to see you again! It doesn't have to be alone, either. You can bring friends! I moved in with your aunt Lori, so I'll be there. She'll be at work tomorrow, but I'm off. Please visit me!"
"When does she leave?"
"7:30 in the morning."
"Sure. I guess I'll come over."
"Okay. See you tomorrow, then! Love you, bye!" his mother says before hanging up.
She sounded like she was about to cry.
Toby puts down his phone and goes limp.
"Are you okay?" I ask.
"I'm fine, just exhausted."
"It's alright. I think you guys at least deserve to rest peacefully now that you know I'm awake. I can go out and pass the time by doing my new job!" I respond.
"You're not going alone! Go with Clockwork or Jane or... Someone! Please don't go alone!" Jeff shouts.
"I'm not, don't worry." I say.
I head out the door and grab a knife.
Going against Jeff's orders, I go out alone.
I already know where I'm going.
(y/bff/n)'s house, to set things straight.
When I get there, her parents aren't home.
Is she getting treated tonight?
I see that the light is on in her room.
Since she's the only one home, I try to go in the front door.
It's locked, but I know where they keep the emergency key.
I unlock the door and go in.
I hear (y/bff/n) yell, "Mom? Dad?"
I walk upstairs.
(y/bff/n) opens her bedroom door and I hide.
She can't see me yet.
She whispers, "Must've been my imagination. Damn. Those murders are messing with my mind." and closes the door.
I walk quietly to the door and open it.
She looks at me, fear in her eyes.
"(y-y-y/n)?!?! W-why are y-you h-here? A-are you-? Oh my God..." she gets out.
She looks at my knife, then my eyes.
Her eyes widen.
"What? Are you afraid of this?" I ask, holding up the knife.
"Wh-what happened t-to you? You've b-become d-deranged, like some a-animal!"
"I've only changed a bit. Sure I've killed someone, but I'm still the same (y/n) you know! I just want to say, I've found two people who care about me, love me in fact. I love them back, too. You know who I'm talking about. Toby and Jeff. They've been taking care of me while you ABANDONED me!"
"(y-y/n), I d-don't even know y-you anymore! Wh-what happened?!?!"
"The boys helped me realize who I really am! They helped me realize I should've done this sooner! I should've killed someone sooner! I've never felt so alive!"
"Wh-why are y-you h-here?"
"I wanted to set things straight. I was considering killing you. That's why I brought a weapon, but I think I'll let you live, for now. Next time, I'll come back with the boys. Then, you'll really get to see my wrath!"
"Oh my..." she says and hugs me.
"I never thought you felt way..."
"It's a little late for that!" I shout as I hold up my knife.
