Scarletie- Chapter 1

~ Chad's P.O.V. ~

"Chad, don't go out there! Its dangerous!" Greggory screams over the thunder.

"You already told me its dangerous. I just need to prove my father wrong!"

I turn quickly before he could catch me and run out of the Captain's Cabin into the main deck. The thick sheets of rain make it hard to see, and to make matters worse, dark gray clouds swirl around and spit lightning at the sky.

All I can hear is the sound of the crashing waves frowning out the loud thunder and yelling. The angry ocean is trying to swallow my Father's ship! This is going to be the end of us all.

Water flies, and stings my face, as the ship rocks back and forth, throwing me off my feet. I stumble to the ground crashing onto the ground falling face flat. I growl in pain and struggle to stand. I blindly grip the side of the ship and my stomach begins flip.

I clench my stomach as I feel my brunch threatening to exit and in a blink, the worst happens. I loose my balance, and the boat throws me off my feet into the black hungry ocean.

I scream knowing this is the end of me. My short life has ended, nothing more.... No more being King. No more getting married to fairest of all land. No more power. Nothing. The only thing left for me to remember before I crashed into the icy water, is my Father cry out my name, "Chad!"

~ Scarletie's P.O.V. ~

Where in the world did Sox go?? He was here only a second ago!

I am sure he is not lost, because we both were raised here all of our lives and know this place by heart. Maybe he is feasting? And looking for food?Yeah. Thats right. He usually does that without acknowledging me. I stand on my toes and search the green forrest, searching for him.

It was snowing just the other week, a harsh time for me, and things have gotten warm. My surrounding are all green and growing. This is the time when that Mother calls, Spring. That is when flowers bloom and fruits ripens.

A good advantage of this is that I can gather instead of hunt. Where I can find myself food faster than any other seasons. I pluck a green apple from a tree near by, and bite into the sourness. Even though its not ripe it taste heaven to my singing taste buds. It is almost dinner time, and I am out gathering plants and roots for my stew.

~

About an hour has passed, and I have finally found all the ingredients I needed, even a little bonus, a rabbit! I place my supper inside, onto the handmade carved table sitting in the middle of my small cottage.

I head out side, it is about supper time and that lazy Sox is nowhere to be found. "Where could he be?" Oo~ I got it. I think I know where he is.

I take a quick route through the trees and up to the beach. I walk slowly enjoying the warmth underneath my toes that came from the smooth white sand. I stand staring at the blue sky and the calm sea. It is amazing how the ocean is so beautiful when last night just yesterday there was the worst storm I have ever witnessed!

I look away from the breathtaking view when I see a bundle of red fur tickle my leg. I squeal out a giggle and look down, there he is!

I swoop the fox into my arms and embrace him to my chest. "Where have you been Sox?"

He responds by walking away. I frown at Sox, "Don't you dare ignore me?!" I say scolding him. It's very unsual for him to do this kind of thing!

I follow Sox. His bushy red tail sticks high in the air and his pointy ears tilt back. I frown, Sox only does this when there's danger around. I think he might be even scared. That isn't good news! Sox stops and I look up finding a large object laying on shore.

" What is that thing?"

I grab a nearby fallen limb and drag it through the sand as creep up to the strange-looking form. High tide waves wash over it removing the object from the sea back where it belonged. I fingered a remaining seaweed that stuck on its face. Glaring at its face, I tilt my head to the side and see it in a diffrent angle. My jaw drops and I gasp. There layed the most beautiful creature I had ever seen!

I squint my eyes at this six foot long creature, recognizing it from a place I might I have seen from. Maybe a children's book Mother might have read to me before.

"It looks so familiar.."

I finally recognize it and gasp. Dropping the stick my hands fly to my mouth covering it. Standing their stunned, I stutter out, "It's... It's Boy!"
