Chapter 18

~ Scarletie's P.O.V. ~

I finally told him. The wieght of the stress left my shoulders and I relaxed.. I looked up into his eyes and waited for him to respond. His eyes glowed with happiness.

He took my hands and held them, "I like you too, and I can't even imagine my life without you."

My heart lifted and my eyes filled with tears, I never felt this happy before! I felt a warm drop of water roll down my face. "Am I crying?" I told him shocked..

His hands cupped my face, "Yea but these are happy tears. Dont worry. " he said smiling at me while he wiped one of my tears away with his thumb.

But that was it; I couldn't stop worrying...

We finished with collecting the food, we packed them, and wrapped it up in my basket. I brought my only blanket, some fresh water, and some other foods off the shelf in the cabin. I looked at my home one last time, taking it all in, knowing that I would never return to the only home I've ever known.

"I am going to miss my home.." I said quietly to myself.

"Scarletie. You ready?" Chad asked behind me. I wiped one of my tears and turned to look at him as I smiled and nodded my head.

He took the basket from me and held my hand as we walked slowly to the shore. "Oh yeah. Didnt you say you wanted to show me something, the other day?"

The flash back of telling him that, skidded across my mind, "Eh, it was nothing important.."

"Okay." He told me smiling.

Guilt bubbled in me. It was so easy to ignore this issue but I dont want him to know. What if he found out... what will i do if he got mad at me. I bit my lip scared that the words will slip out of my mouth.

I dont want to lose him ... thats why I can never ever tell him!

~ Chad's P.O.V ~

The small boat rocked as I clutched my upset stomache. I have always hated the sea it makes me sick. Scarletie patted my back as I hurled my dinner into the blue ocean.

I grasped the cup of water unpatiently from Scarletie, wanting the sour taste out of my mouth. As I gurgled the water I had to gulp it down in order to save the little water we had. Scarletie looked at me with a worried face.

"Are you sure your well?" She asked for the fourth time. I squeezed my eyes and nodded. "This is normal for me.." I told her as I felt the water swish around in my empty abdomen.

I opened my eyes and saw her concern. "Maybe your cold?" She told me pulling out the quilt.

"No." I swallowed, "I am not cold. Just please, don't fret about this." I placed my hand on her wrist for her to look up at me.

She sighed, but the worriness didnt leave her face. "I feel better. How about we try to relax and go to sleep?" I told her.

I took the blanket from her I layed it on the rough floor, then sat down and stretched my feet out . "Put your head here and relax. It's getting dark and it is time to sleep." I told her patting my leg.

She frowned at me. "I said relax Scarletie. I am totally fine." I told her forcing a smile.

"Okay..." Scarlatie said. She puts the basket that was in her lap down on the floor. She laid down and placed her head on my thigh. It took her a while but then she sighed and finally relaxed, and became comfortable.

"Chad. How's life in the palace?" She asked me while I was playing with her hair.

"It is the total opposite of your life at the cabin. But dont worry you'll fit in its filled with colors and the latest fashion... You will like it. Trust me." He said in a cheerful voice.

I laid back against the boat side. Scarletie sat up and scooted closer to me placing her head onto my chest looking up at me through her light red lashes. "There's no room for my legs" She told me, "and I like it better like this."

I beamed, "Yes, it really is great like this."

I shut my eyes as I stiffled a yawn and we both fell into deep sleep to the rythm of the waves.

I woke up to the roaring thunder and a pain in my shoulder. "Ugh! What's happening?" I asked not fully awake.

"Chad! Good your awake! Look! Water coming into our boat!" She trys to yell over the loud noise.

Water spalshes my face and I suddenly notice what is happening. I shake my head, to remove the tiredness, and rub my eyes from the salty water. My vision clears and I stare at the scene.

Ocean water is spilling into the boat as the plump gray clouds above started to darken and close in together. Scarletie was on her knees trying to take out the water with her hands. She was panicking and I heard a sob escape from her mouth.

A loud crackling noise flashed lightning in the sky, and large raindrops poured out of the sky as they pounded on our faces and body. Scarletie looked up at me with her puffy eyes. I held her in a hug and didnt let go. "Scarletie, know that I love you." I tell her.

She broke the embrace and placed her hands onto my chest. She looked at me and moved her hands up to my neck as she brought her lips to mine. Unlike usual, her eyes were shut and I felt her body move into mine.

This was it, I knew what was about to happen I felt my heart stop it was hard to breath.

Whats wrong with me? Why was I acting like this? Ive kissed her before.. Ive kissed and been kissed by many girls. But this was different it was like a dream come true; knowing that she craved for my kiss the way I did for hers.

It was a brief kiss, soft and sweet just like her. When she pulled away my lips tingled wanting more, she looked up at me with a creased forehead and dark bags underneath her eyes.

Her eyes screamed of fear, she was terrified, and scared of what might happen to us.

I had to reasure her, I brought my hand down to the bottom of her neck and made little circles with my fingers to soothe her, even though I am panicking as much as she is I know that I will do anything to keep her safe.

She broke into more tears as I hugged her. I felt my eyes blur, but... it's just something in my eye.. I never would have ever guessed that this would have happened. Everything was going great up until now...

Scarletie brought her hands to her face as she wiped her tears. She gave me a tough face and smiled. Her smiled dissapeared as a huge wave come at us, I gripped her hand, and the weak boat couldnt take it. It broke apart, I saw our belonging disappear into the ocean, I heard wood snaping everywhere then we were thrown into the dark storming ocean.

I start feeling anxious as I slammed into the water. The ocean starts to pull me in as it breaks me apart from Scarletie. I hold my breath and kick to the surface, inhaling the moist air. I screamed out, "Scarletie!" when I saw her head bob in the water.

I paddled to her and saw her flip her hair out of her face as she sucked in the air. I held her hand again and she looked at me shocked and paled. "Cha-" Scarletie tried to speak but another wave came at us and seperated us apart again.

I kicked and attempted to push myself forward, but my legs gave up and the ocean swallowed me in. I couldnt take this anymore and my body gave up on me as I started to sink, longing to touch the bottom. Water filled my lungs as my vision blurred from the dirty water and them I saw a bright green light. Suddenly my world caved on me as everything around me brightened.

This must be heaven...
