The Mission - Chapter 6
~ Scarletie's P.O.V. ~
The faint sun wakes me up like an alarm for every one of my mornings. There the stranger layed, sleeping in a relaxed position. He had his hands behind his head, and legs crossed at the ankles.
I sit up and look around adjusting to the dim light. I realize that I am inside a small cave. The ground walls and ceiling is all black and rough, which had left my back sore and aching. Not one spot in this cave is smooth. He must not be smart at all. There are many caves with smooth surfaces unlike this one. I roll my eyes at the dumb mistake he made and look out to the only opening there was.
The opening was blocked with the mans body but light came shining in highlighting the man's beautiful face. It danced around his features, and enhanced his high cheekbones and firm jaw. It seemed as though it was a natural spotlight that belonged just for him. Only for him.
Four days have passed, and today I noticed that I still don't know anything about this charming man.
The cave was tiny, no space at all for me to move. The guy had me trapped against the wall, he was too close that I felt like I was suffocating between him and the wall of the cave. I need to wake him up, so as softly as I could, I tugged at a strand of his hair.
He lets out a deep groan and shifts in his sleep, but instead of rolling away from me which I expected, he rolls on me. He squeezes me with the weight of his body, his head on my stomach and his hands wrapped around my waist. I suck in a breath and hold it in waiting as patiently as I can for him to get off me.
Few seconds pass, and I began to get nervous. What is he doing?! Is this another attack of his?
"GET OFF!!" I screech. Trying to push him off.
The sleeping man jumps from his sleep and stares down at me down with his green gem eyes.
"What the matter with you?!?" He yells.
"You were about to attack me!"
"No I wasnt!!"
"Yes. You were about to!"
The guy glared at me and shook his head, his wavy hair flowing. How can this guy be so perfect. Even his hair and face is so... perfect.
A moment of silence passes and we just sit there staring at one another. His voice rumbles through the silince.
"Umm..." He began, "Do you have a name?"
"Why?"I say glaring at him.
"Calm yourself!" He says glaring back at me, "I was just curious."
I roll my eyes and huff out loud,
"It's Scarletie."
"Scarletie." He repeats after me.
It sends goosebumbs through out my body and makes the red hairs on my arms stand. Name. I havent been called by my name since... since Mother left.
"Scarletie...." It sent even more goosebumbs down my arm, "Aren't you going to ask for my name?"
I honestly never thought of asking for his name, "What is your name, stranger?"
"Well for sure my name is not stranger." He jokes but it really is not funny at all. "Umm... Its Chad."
Chad, a simple name.
"Chad." I say testing the texture his name on my tongue."Tell me what happened last night? All I remember was me taking you out for rope hunting and the rest was just- just a blur to me."

Ugh. I was hoping for her to not ask that question, but I had already planned on what to say.
"You took me out, and then for some reason you had fainted." I skipped some parts... " After that I took you for shelter."
She smiles at me. "So you helped me? You didnt leave me..." She looked at me and then throws her arms around my neck embracing me tightly.
"Thank you." She chokes out.
I feel sick to my stomach and push her off me. She moves away from her warm embrace and starts to wipe her cheeke. She is crying? Over something as simple as that. My stomach flips but this time it was bevause she made me feel guilty.
Aren't witches supposed to be bad?
Yes. They are...they are horrible and dangerous creatures. They kill. They don't smile nor cry. They don't have emotions. She is just faking it.
My guilt quickly leaves.
"Scarletie. Help me make a boat."
"What? Why?"
"I have to go back home... back to the palace."
I didn't bring her for shelter because I wanted to protect her. Yesterday I was about to leave her but quickly changed my mind.
"Palace?" She asked. She looked at me confused.
"Yes, palace. I am a prince. Prince Chad. I fell off my Father's ship while we were on a mission. It is a miracle I am even alive. How I came on shore still living is going to be a mystery, forever. I have to go back, Scarletie. Father might be dead by now. Him and the crew. I am his only son, and I have the responsibility of taking care of the kingdom. "
The mission was to search for witches. Witches are dangerous and need to be killed. The only reason for keeping her alive is that I could use her for fame. My plan is to seduce her and bring her with me. There I would be King and like any other King, we have to kill witches. When I do kill her, by burning her infront of others, I would recieve fame from others. As easy as that. I do a great job with my charms.
She looks at me and nods her head. "Okay. I will help."
I let out a breath. Good. "But, Scarletie..." I take her hand into mine and stare deeply into her ocean eyes, "I have one wish, and that only wish is for you to come with me. I am positive you would enjoy with being with me."
She blushes. "Wait. What? Why?"
