This girl - Chapter 9

~ Chad's P.O.V. ~

A scrape from the chair made me forget what I was going to say. Scarletie just scooted her chair and is now so close to me, that our legs are even touching. No girl has ever done this sort of thing to me, it was usually me who would do that sort if thing.

She brings her face closer to mine. Her breath tingles my skin. I give her a look and was about to push her away, when she touches my face softly. My heartbeat quickens and pounds in my chest. She looks up at me giving me a sweet smile. Her look makes me sink to my knees.

Her smile fades, but I continue to stare into her eyes, getting drowned into them with every passing second. I was about to lean in for the kiss when she suddenly pulls away.

"Scarletie...." I breath out.

"What?" She says softly. "I just wanted to take the crumb off your face."

"What."

"Yeah the fish crumb was on your face and it was bothering me." She shrugs and stands up, clearing the table,

Ugh. She wasn't going to kiss me! I just made a fool of myself. What is the matter with me? Why did I think she was going to kiss me? I am such an idoit!

Why did I feel like this? My heartbeat even quickened. Am I falling for her?

My eyes widen at that thought. Iver my dead body I would. I would never in my life let myself fall for someone like that. She is disgusting. No girl ever wears trousers and puts thier hair down. That is so unlady like.I stare her down.

In my town all the women have powdered faces and pale lips. Their hairs are always high up in a bun. With their flowing dresses and their shining jewerly, they all look like dolls. So elegant.

But this girl is diffrent. She has her hair down and she could be even mistaken as a guy with her personality. She is the complete opposite of a lady.

I never would have thought in a million years that this would have happen to me, being stuck on an island with her. I never thought I would ever meet someone like this.

Well, of course she is diffrent. She is a witch! Why am I even comparing her to a lady?

Is it possible that witches can make people fall for them? But Father had never told me they could do that such of a thing and she didn't do anything suspicious... Maybe that is her part of her plan? Is it really possible, but I don't believe so.

So, why do I feel like I am falling for her?

When it was time to sleep I slept far away from her. She invited me to the mattress a couple of times but I would have not dared to get any closer. Instead, Sox slept in my place.

The two fell asleep quickly and I layed there staring at the cracked ceiling. Sleep crept over me slowly leaving me dreaming of her.
