Chapter 25

~ Scarletie's P.O.V ~

I sat in the room shocked at what happend. I felt paralyzed for a few seconds until Greg came busting in. He rushed to me and sat down by me rubbing my shoulders. I feel him carry me and enter a brighter room. There I was placed on a bed.

Gregg was by me staring down at me as though not knowing what to do. His angered face has left and formed into a caring soft face. He finale spoke up.

"Are you okay?"

He said not touching me and just glanced at my body to check any injuries. He checked me from head to toe and his brown eyes stopped at my eyes, waiting for me to respond to him.

All I could do was cry and sit up, wrapping my hands around him. He patted my back awkwardly and sat still. He then released my hug and gave me a stern face, "Scarletie." He began, "You have to be careful."

I looked at him and nodded my head firmly even though more tears threatened to spill. "I will."

Days passed and the burnt marks and blisters on my palm has healed. Gregg was over my head the whole time and watched every move I made carefully like a hawk. He told me not to clean the mans room anymore and said he would do it for me. After the incident nobody noticed the man was gone. Even I don't know where Gregg has placed him. It seemed Greggory was trying to his best to be extremely careful.

Gregg has stopped ignoring me and now catches every move I make. Whenever I speak to one if the crew men he buts into our conservation and somehow takes me out of it. He once dragged me to the side and told me, "Be careful. We only have less than two weeks left."

He doesn't allow me to sleep with my roomate any more. At night he takes me to his room and lays me down in his bed, as he goes and sleeps on the sofa.

I try to welcome him with me to lay by me but he doesn't budge and tells me to go to sleep. Why is he like that? Chad usually sleeps with me... But I don't dare to argue back to him. He is right, I should keep my cool for at least 12 more days...

~ Greggory's P.O.V ~

My focus was all on Scarletie. Why is she still so careless? The other day I saw her giggling and blushing at a comment a pirate made. It showed her feminine side. The pirate almost noticed, until I spoke up changing the subject catching him off gaurd and grabbing her to the side and telling her to be careful.

We were lucky that the bald man was interested in men and didnt know that Scarletie is really a girl. But we must watch what we do.

Late at night I lay awake waiting patiently until I hear the soft sounds of her soft snores. At the sound if those snore is When she is sound asleep and at that time it is when I can finally rest my eyes. I lay back staring up at the cowling thinking.. Thinking about the future and what it would hold.

What's going to happen when Scarletie finds out about Chad's fiancé? I see her everyday smiling, wont that smile dissappear if she finds out... She might never ever smile... My heart aches, what should I do?

~ 8 days later ~

The sun is high up in the blue sky as it shines down on the crew. Greggory is home sick and his fever rose from all the stress he has from worrying to much about everything. He layed in bed for a while as Scarletie tended to his needs. The days dragged on and these two couldnt wait to get back to land.

Naturally the pirates loved the sea and the adventure and thrill of excitement in it, except those two... but land was closer than they knew. A old full bearded man choked on his rum and yelled out, "Land!"

The people around him jumped to their feet unexpected that land was near. They passed around the bottle each getting a large swiff and men stood dancing around. They smiled and grinned and sang, "Arr Arr. Land to come. Arr Arr, Land e'Ho."

The song rumbled through the ship, "Land ho!" everyone repeated. The two downstairs perked their ears. "Land ho..." Scarletie said smiling at the thought of Chad. She grinned at Gregg and clutched her hat she held in her hand.

He layed in bed and at the look I

of her, guilt quickly spewed inside of Greggory. He was devestated, he didnt want to go back. He had feelings for her and didnt want these emotions in him whenever he sees her, especially if Chad does. She went to him and hugged him tight. "Land ho!" She said delighted.

At the touch of Scarletie he melts and he parted from her. "Lets get ready." He said not wanting to stay alone with her any longer.

~ Greggory's P.O.V ~

She packed her pouch and had her black robe on. An erasable smile was spread across her face. This girl is so happy even though all she has gone through.. I don't want her smile to vanish.. I caught myself dozing off and focused on this pirate instead. Time will tell.. I tell myself.

I am not to give up on my quest. I am going to make Chad happy and transform her and fix her up into a lady.

We rode on horseback towards the castle. Many didnt pay attention to a boy and a man on a horse, and we easily glided through the village. Scarletie clunged to the horses mane fear from falling. She complained on the way how the horse would kick her off like how other horses do. I don't know which ones has done that to her but this Good Ol' Berge truded along slowly.

A couple blocks from the castles gates I had Scarletie to get off the horse and walk besides it. I told her to act as a servant and lower her gaze and not to look up at anyone except the horse. With that she asked me questions asking me, "What a servant is?", "Why do I have to do that?", "When do I get to see Chad?"

It showed she doesn't know much and when she brought up Chad's name into our conservation I told her not to speak of him.

"You aren't allowed to say his name so formally. We have to greet him with 'Your Highness'." And then that brings up another question, "What does 'Your Highness' mean?"

I sighed and shook my head. She has a lot to learn. "Scarletie just don't say anything and stay quiet for me until we get into safety. Agree?"

She looked at me and tilted her head in confusion, "Agreed but this horse doesnt like me.." She said softly. I laughed out loud. She seems so childish.

"He likes you as much as you like him." I tell her chuckling.

We finally entered in the palace and the guards didnt give her a second glance but she had her eyes glued onto them. She looked at them with trembling eyes and walk in gripping on the saddle. Her eyes scattered across the castle and her mouth opened from the shock.

Her eyes the size of melons looked up at to mine, "Gregg... I know this place."
