Kimberly and Thomas were watching me very carefully, I don't tolerate disrespect from anyone and they knew because of years of being in my company. The two of them were waiting for me to do some insane reaction that I am known for that they might have to take control over. "You should care who is of rank and care about dragons!" I stood up so fast as I was talking that David fell backward. I stormed over to where my brother and the kitsune were at. "One! Dragons can step on you or if they feel like it they can eat you." The kitsune recoiled down to the ground as I got closer and my voice louder. "Second off, I am the Dragon Master. That means you must show me respect." My voice was raised to the point that I seemed that I was yelling but wasn't. I flared my Dragon Fire making it look like a dragon made flames with its wings spread out, its head reaching toward the sky roaring without sound. Everyone leaned back out of fear of the sheer power I was displaying.
The kitsune laid down, putting its paws over its nose out of fear. "I... I'm so... sorry. I didn't realize the situation I was in."
Taking a deep breath in to calm down before I spook again, "I forgive you this time." I paused noticing that I didn't see nor sense an adult kitsune, "Why are you by yourself? Normally a young kitsune such as yourself, aren't alone for very long. And with the power, I had just displayed we should see your mom at least?" I asked a little worried because I wasn't sensing a parent.
"I have lost both my parents this year. My mom had told me to stay in the den when she and my dad sensed a threat that I didn't. That was eight months ago. I was just learning how to control my fire at the time. Ever since then I've had no choice but to learn the hard way on how to defend myself and how to live on my own."
My brother kneeled to his level, "What is your name?" Scott asked as he reached out his hand like he was going to pet the kitsune to comfort the young guy.
"Vulcan. With what happened I wasn't aware that humans were here nor that they could have my fire. I was surprised and a little scared but I wanted answers. I guess I went about it the wrong way." Vulcan said in an apologetic tone.
'I think that's the closest he will get to an apology.'
My brother smiled down at him gently, "It is okay, and we all make mistakes." My brother paused a moment thinking about what to say next. "How about this? Would you like to travel with us, together we can learn how to control our fires? My sister told me that it would be better if I had a kitsune as a companion. My name is Scott and this is my sister Tami." Scott held his hand out toward me.
I chimed in, "We might even come across an elder kitsune that may be willing to help the two of you learn more advanced techniques. You won't be alone and will be a part of a weird family." I smiled at Vulcan to show that I was more than willing to accept him into our group.
"I would love to. I am tired of being alone." Vulcan said as he stepped closer to Scott to lay his head on Scott's knees. I nodded my head to motion okay Scott.
Scott sat there for a few minutes rubbing Vulcans head before, he gently picked up the young kit. As Scott stood up Vulcan curled up and snuggled against his chest. I have a feeling that Vulcan will not be leaving Scott's side anytime soon. 'Now that I think about it Vulcan is the name of the Roman god of fire. His parents named his Vulcan hoping he would become strong. I have no doubt that the two of them will become very powerful in the future.'
"Well now that is taken care of and we already have a camp, we should get rest tonight and in the morning we will head out to look for Scott's friends. Y'all go get some sleep. I'm going to train myself."
"Are you sure that is a good idea after all that you did today and with you passing out as well?" David asked worrying about me.
"Yes it is, actually it'll be better for me if I do train, that way my body can get use to the movements again. Even with my power level I still must train if only to get rid of excess energy. I am honing my skills I have and sometimes I even come up with a new move." I placed my hand on his shoulder to reassure him that I would be okay.
