Paint Fight and Bad Dreams

Chapter 11

I opened my closet. Amy had gone shopping for me again as I could see. My closet was full of clothes that I really liked. Most of them were either purple or black. I changed into an white shirt and a pair of ripped jeans. When I came into Shadow’s room, he had on a pair of paint-splattered jeans and a paintbrush in hand. He handed me a paintbrush and I dipped it in the crimson paint. Shadow turned on his Ipod and put on Never Say Never by Justin Bieber. I looked at him and he just smirked.

He started to outline his logo in white chalk. Like the mischievous child I am, I set the song Witch Doctor to play after the current song. When I looked up, Shadow was standing over me.

“Down,” Shadow told me. I gave him a nervous smile and put his Ipod down. I started to paint inside the chalk lines at the bottom and Shadow painted on the top. When I dipped my brush again, I accidentally flicked some paint onto Shadow’s face when he bent down.

He gave me an evil smile, “Oh, its on,” he painted the tip of my nose crimson red. We chased each other around his room splatter-painting each other as well. In the end, we were both splattered with crimson paint all across our faces and clothing.

Out of nowhere, Shadow pinned me down on the floor without warning. I felt panic strike my face, “You’re not afraid of me are you?” Shadow smirked. I narrowed my eyes at him and he got off.

“What the heck was that for? That was so random,” I asked confused. Shadow just smirked again and continued painting. He’s so odd and mysterious.

A couple hours later, we finished painting his logo. Shadow stood back to look at it.

“Awesome, you’re a great partner,” Shadow complimented. I just smiled at him. After that, I showered and washed the paint off my face.

That night, Shadow awoke me from my deep concentration on my book.

“Time for bed,” I looked at him with a Wtf? look on my face.

“I’m not a child,” I argued.

“Inside you still are and that’s what I love about you.”

I looked at the clock next to me. It was almost midnight, “What are you doing up?”

“Just looking around,” Shadow answered.

“Ok…” this was getting really weird really fast. Shadow sighed and walked over to my bedside. Without warning, he kissed me ever so passionately. I felt myself melt underneath Shadow. My face was getting hot and it was getting harder to breathe.

He broke the kiss and whispered, “Good night my little angel,” I was such in a daze that I didn’t bother to answer him. Shadow ticked me in, turned off the light and left without another word.

*dream*

I was in a dark place with darkness all around. Suddenly, a light turned on and a blue door was visible and I opened it. Sonic was on the other side looking all flirtatious. I backed up and hit a red door. I opened it hoping to escape. Knuckles was on the other side of this door, stepping towards me. I ran away from them and ran into a white door. I wanted to escape this nightmare. I opened it and Silver was on the other side. Silver?! As far as I knew, Silver just met me. Was he falling in love with me too? I just ran again and came to a normal door. I opened it and Scourge and Mephiles were on the other side of this one. Was this my future? Were they going to fall in love with me or attack? Scared to death, I ran again and came across a black door. Piecing the puzzle together, I knew Shadow was behind this door. I opened it and I was right. I ran to him with open arms. He looked behind me and saw Sonic, Knuckles, Silver, Scourge and Mephiles coming behind me.

“I’ll protect you, always,” Shadow jumped over me and started fighting the guys. Mephiles went behind Shadow and took out a spear.

“Shadow!” I yelled.

*end dream*

I woke up yelling for Shadow just like in my dream. Shadow, along with Knuckles, Sonic and Silver, came running in. The light was flipped on and all four boys were crowded around me. Shadow didn’t bother with the other guys and just focused on me. I closed my eyes and I guess all the boys hugged me because I felt a sudden warmth engulf me as well as the fiery feeling from Shadow.

“Dabria, please stop crying,” Shadow pleaded, “I don’t like to see you so sad,” I calmed myself down and opened my eyes. Four smiling faces were around me trying to make me feel better.

Shadow broke the silence, “What happened?

I told them about my nightmare and how I scared me. They understood and Shadow gave me another hug. The fiery feeling consumed me again. Shadow let go and I felt a little better.

“You feeling better now?” Silver asked me. I nodded and he came closer to me, “I love you,” he whispered. I was surprised and shocked at his confession. Shadow growled and Silver backed away. The three boys left my room and I was left with Shadow.

“You ok?” Shadow asked. Tears still stung my eyes from that dreadful nightmare. I nodded and Shadow pulled me into a tight embrace, “Hey, no more tears,” he kissed me gently and got up to leave. I pulled on his arm; I did not want him to leave. He smiled and sat on my bed again.

“What’s troubling you?” Shadow asked all caring.

“I feel unsafe now without you,” I confessed.

He pat my head, “You want to feel the same way you did when we were at the pier. Am I right?” I nodded. I laid down on the bed and Shadow laid next to me. I looked deeply into his eyes as he did to me.

I like you, for who you are. Shadow’s thoughts rang through my head. He put his arm around me and I was slowly falling asleep again. I looked into his eyes one last time until I fell into a dreamless sleep.

Shadow’s POV

I looked at Dabria again. She was so beautiful, as always. Something drew me away from these thoughts; her safety. I had to protect her more than I had before. That nightmare could have been sent from Mephiles as a warning, or worse, he was getting into her head. He must have awaken. Look out, Mephiles, I’m coming for you.
