Girls in the Glade

Chapter 5

Catherine's POV
I woke up very early today. Way to early Minho wasnt awake yet but, i got to run a few laps before we trained I ran around the glade along the walls.
Newts POV
I woke early to get the buckets filled with water. I walked into the woods and heard panting. I looked around and saw Catherine running. She ran fast, a few seconds later I didn't see her.  She was gone. I went and took the bucket filled with water to the farms. I got another bucket and went back into the woods. Then again I saw Cathy running there again. I decided to stay there for a few minutes and counted how long she took to get back. A few minutes later she came.
"Whoa 6 Minutes and 39 seconds to run a lap....... Impressive " I nodded
"Thanks?"She said as she approached me
"Welcome" I said as I grabbed my bucket
"Hold up" she said
"What"
She stopped me and grabbed the bucket and took a drink
"Oh cmon I just refilled that"
"We'll do it again" She said and started running again
"Dang that girl" I said smiling
I walked back to the farms to see her and Minho talking.
"I still don't think you should be a runner" I said hoping they heard me
"Like it or not I'm becoming one" Catherine said
"Trust me won't last a day out there" I said
"I don't care" she said
"Zip it both of you"Minho said
Jessica's POV
It was the next day and I decided to actually go and eat today I was actually pretty weak which is why I chose to do so.
"Good Morning Frypan" I said
"Good morning Jess"he said with a wide smile
" do you know where's Cat?" I questioned
" um she's been up early because she is training with Minho to become a runner" said Frypan
" oh she's becoming a runner that's cool" I said
" it's not to cool with Newt he got pretty mad when she decided that she wanted to become a runner" he said
" really he shouldn't she can protect herself plus she's a fast runner" I said
" here's your breakfast"
" thanks I simply replied"
As I was about to eat I didn't know where to sit down since Cat was with Minho and Thomas was on runner duty so I decided to sit next to Chuck
" hey chuck mind if I sit" I said
" be my guest" he said
" so how's it going" said chuck
" it's been good I guess" I simply said
" mind if I sit here" said a guy with blondish hair
" sure" I said
" the names Gally" he said
" well nice to meet you Gally I'm Jessica but you can all me Jess for short" I said
* couple of hours past*
" haha your really funny" I said to Gally
" thanks and your really pretty" he said making me look like a tomato.
"thanks" I said with a smile after that I decided to go find Thomas since it's getting dark and he should be back by now I find him and I see he's talking with Chuck
" well I gotta go bye" said Chuck
" so chuck here told me that you've been talking alot with Gally and from what I heard it seemed like he was flirting you!" He said angrily but still gentle in a way
" we were just talking, and who are you to tell me what to do and why are you getting so angry we aren't even dating!" I said loudly
" you know why I'm acting like this it's because like you a lot! And I can't help it when I see you talking to other guys" said Thomas
"I never really wanted to tell you because I was afraid you wouldn't like me back. So please answer me this do you like me back?" He said with worry in his eyes
Then I leaned in to kiss him and he kissed back! It felt so magical I felt safe with him not like I ever felt with anyone ,well that I remember. I felt him cup my cheeks with his hands and then we slowly pulled away
" did that answer you question" I said with a huge grin on my face
Catherine's POV
After me and Minho stopped training we decided to join the others for the  Bonfire.
We walkied in the in dehydrated so we got a drink
"I'm stating to think I run faster than you Minho"
"No you dont you run slower than me" He said as he took one step closer to me.
"No you run slower"I said as I took one step closer 
Newts POV
I went into the homestead to get some sticks till I heard some noises I the kitchen. I stopped my tracks and listened/watched
It was Cat and Minho.
"No you run slower" He said and he took one step closer to her
"Nope that's you"She said one step closer to Minho
There was something growing inside of me was it anger. It was worst it was jealousy. It took over me and took me into the kitchen. Minho and Cat were so close together. Inches apart
"What's going on here"I said
"We just finished arguing over who runs slower.... Which is her" He said and backed away
"No I'm n- "Enough.... Go out side the rest are waiting" I cut her off 
"I'll be outside" Minho glared at me then looked at Catherine then walked away.
"What's your problem?!" Catherine exclaimed
"My problem?"
"Yes your problem"
" I don't have a problem"  I said as I turned around to walk away but she turned me around.
"Stop ignoring me!"She said
"I am not ignoring you!"
"Yes you are!"She said
"What do you want?"
"What is your problem with me.... Why don't you like me?......why do you hate me? the first day I was here you gave me the tour then when Minho came and talked to me you left me there alone. Then later that day you argue with Minho and me about me being a runner.....you start underestimating me! Now when me and Minho are playing in the kitchen you come and scold us what's your problem with me and Minho!?" She said taking a deep breath in the end
"First of all I don't hate you! Second of all I don't have a problem with the both of you! And I left you alone on the tour because I had to do something! Then I don't want you to become a runner because your a girl you can't be out there it's to dangerous for you!" I shouted
"So your saying I'm not good enough to be out there, just because I'm a girl doesn't mean I'm not capable of facing out there! I could handle whats out there!.......... Why should I even care about what you think.....I'm becoming a runner like it or not" She said
"Fine do what you want! Trust me your not gonna last a day out there" I said then walked outside.
I looked around to see all the boys looking at me, guessing they heard.
"What are you looking at?!"I said
"Sorry" they all said
Jessica's POV
I walked towards the bonfire very happy since Thomas confessed his love for me 
" hey want to sit next to me?" Said Thomas with a smile God can he get any cuter ughhh!! I thought to myself
" Sure!" I said excited maybe a little too excited
Thomas just gave a little chuckle which made me smile like crazy
" hey so I was meaning to ask you something since you said you like me back and you kissed me would you like to be my girlfriend?" Said Thomas
" are you serious? Yes of course!!" I said while smiling ear to ear
" for real oh my God I can't believe that you said yes!" Said Thomas looking shocked
I immediately hugged him I could feel him tense up when I laid my hands on him. I felt my heart beat faster than it has ever beated before.
"Awe Thomas I called dibs" said one of the gladers sarcastically
All of the guys started wiseling like crazy
" I know I barley met you but I feel like I love you" said Thomas making me bring tears of joy in my eyes
" I love you too" I said while feeling tears falling down my face
