Chapter 9

Catherine's POV
I woke up early today. Since it was the big day me and Jess were going out into the maze. As soon as I woke up I woke her up. She wasn't too happy .I shook her until she was awake. 

"Whaaat" She said

"Cmon big day let's go" I said 

"Ughhh" She said and I dragged her off of bed, she then changed and so did I.

"Go get some food I'll prepare the book bag" I said 

"Fine" She said and walked away. 

Jessica's POV 

I walked off the room and walked cautiously trough the homestead, not wanting to wake up everyone.
I got to the kitchen and took anything that looked good. I soon grabbed an apple and some other stuff.

I was going trough a cabinet when I heard a distant noise. I quickly turned around to see it was, Thomas. 

"What are you doing up?" He asked 

"Ummm....the real question is what are you doing up?" I asked 

"I was getting hungry and wanted to eat something" he said as he sat down in a chair. "What are you doing here?" 

"2 things, you are not supposed to be here. The only people that can come here is me and Frypan and me, 2nd I'm getting food what does it look like" I said 

"I could be back here I'm like the third one in charge in the glade" he said 

"Not actually it's Minho" I said 

He was gonna say something but Newt came in. 

"Hey Tommy" Newt said approaching. 

"Jess cm-on lets go" Cathy said 

"Where are you guys going?" Newt asked 

"We are going....." Cat was saying 

"Cat was feeling a little hungry so I came to get food and-"

"I came because she was taking long" Cathy said 

"Ok?" Thomas said

"You guys can eat something with us if you guys want?" Newt asked grabbing some food.

"No thank you" I said and walked out and pulled Cathy with me. 

"C'mon we have to go" Cathy said 

"Hey where are you guys going!!?" Newt said as he and Thomas approached. 

" C'mon lets run" Cathy said 

"Ok" I said and we started running trough the doors.

"Hey stop!" I could hear Thomas say 

Cat was way far  ahead from me and I'm a bit far behind. I'm slow.  

"Come Jess Hurry" She said

"I'm trying" I said then I felt someone grab my arm. Thomas.

"Stop" I said yanking my arm. But I couldn't help was stronger. 

"I'm sorry" I said and hit him in the jingles. He immediately fell to the ground. 

"Hurry up!" Cat said, she was already in the maze 

"I'm going" I said and ran to Cathy up with her. 

I looked back and Thomas was still in the floor and Newt helping him up. 

"C'mon it's this way" Cathy said as we did a turn. 

After a few minutes we came to a stop.

"What are we doing here" I said catching my breath. 

"This is where Minho mapped the section, oh this side" She said as she walked. 

"He didn't exactly map where I killed the griever but I remember exactly where I went , so follow me" She said and I followed 

"Don't get us lost" 

After a few minutes we came to a stop at a door opening. There was green slimey stuff around it. 

"This is where I let the doors close on it" 

"It sure is scary" I said frightened "How did you even manage to kill it...... you have a smart brain no wonder why" 

"I guess" She said letting out a chuckle "Help me pull its hand or leg" She said grabbing a metal thing from the slimey, green looking thing. 

She got a hold of it and it grabbed it from the back. We pulled and it didn't come off. 

"C'mon let's pull harder"She said 

We tried one more time and it slowly came out. It was the nastiest thing I've seen. 

"Ok lets see what we find here" She said digging around 

"Ew but ok" I said looking around 

"Hey hey look....  I found this metal inside a lung or a liver.... Im not sure" She said with a pink slimey thing in her hand. 

"That looks disgusting" I said "Making me feel like I need to puke" 

"So this is what has been making the noise" She said and the metal thing made a loud beep. 

"Ok, good we found it that thing barley gave me time to sleep....can we go now this place is starting to creep me out" I said 

"Yeah, we should get going now, I don't want to be stuck here for a third night" She said and we walked away from the opening. 

"We should run now, its getting pretty late"She said 

"Ok" Was all I said before we started running.  

 We ran and did a few left and rights. Me always a few dozen feet behind her because I was slow. 

"We gotta run faster from here the doors are about to close" She said looking at her watch. 

"ok" I said and runner the fastest I could, which still wasn't fast enough. 

We ran as fast as we can, and we made it safely,into the maze, the doors closing behind us. 

"What in the bloody hell were you guys thinking?!?!" An angry looking Newt said approaching.

"We are kind of tired Newt, if you don't mind we want to go rest" Cat said walking to the homestead.

"Cat, Jess, come here!" Alby said madly approaching with Thomas. 

This can't be good.
