Chapter 7

Catherine's POV
I woke up to the sound of thunder. I stood up on my one leg that wasn't hurt I then looked at my surroundings and saw Newt sitting on a chair in the corner.
"Newt?"
"Oh my god your awake you had me worried go back to bed you have to rest" He said as he approached me. I looked at his face and he had bags under his eyes his eyes were bloodshot.
"Yeah...how long have I been here?" I asked
"3 days" He said
"Three days?!" I said
"Yes..... Now get on top of the bed you need to rest" he said as he helped me up.
"Newt please just let me stand up and walk for a while"
No you have to rest your leg"
"Newt cmon please let me" I said as I was about to get down but Newt stopped me.
"No the Medijacks said you-" i cut him off by placing my lips on his. He instantly kissed back.
"Here newt I brought you some food you have to at least.whoa! I'm so sorry for walking in on you guys" Jessica said she walked in she was soaked in water. I figured because of the storm.
"Oh no it's ok" I said as I pulled away. "Now what were you saying"
"Oh I came to give Newt some food he hasn't eaten in 5 days" She said
"Newt you haven't eaten" I said as I looked at him.
"No I haven't" He said
"Newt you have to eat something "
"I haven't been hungry"
"Newt you have to eat" I said
"I said I wasn't hungry" he said a bit loud.
"I'll just leave the food here....I'll get going" Jess said as she placed the food on my lap.
"Don't tell anyone what you saw" I said before she left.
"I won't" she said then she walked away
"Newt please eat" I said
"I'm not hungry!"
"Newt please..... Listen to me please....do it for me"He then grabbed the plate from my lap and sat down on the chair.
"Thank you" I said
He just smiled.
I observed him as he ate. After a few minutes he finished the whole plate.
"Not hungry huh?" I giggled
"To be honest I haven't eaten or slept for a few days" he said
"You need rest.....go to your room and sleep" I added
"I'm okay"
"No your not look at you..... You look like you died then rise again....At least take a nap" He chuckled
"I'm serious.... I'm ok" he smiled
" newt please at least here on the bed next to mine....,At least for a while" I begged
"Fine.... Scoot over"
"I meant the bed next to this one but I guess you can be on this one " I murmured the last part.
"Oh ok" he said as he sat on my bed. I scooted over and he laid next to me, he then put an arm around my shoulders I snuggled up onto his chest. I felt safe with him not anyone else.
As far as I remember.
Newts POV
As she snuggled in my chest I felt like I never felt before. I then hugged her then intertwined my hand with her's.
"Newt?" She asked
"Yeah"
"Why did you bother go into the maze?" I could feel her looking up to me.
"People do crazy stuff when they are in love" I said I looked at her and smiled.
She smiled back at me then slowly laid her head back down on my chest. I then kissed he forehead. Then Jess walked in.
"Oh god I am so sorry again is will be the last time" She said
"It's ok" I said
"I'm gonna lock the door over there so no one else will walk in on you" She said and then went to close the door.
"Thanks" Cat said
"Im gonna sleep in the room next door if you don't mind and I will also shut the door from over there" She said and walked away.
"I don't mind" Cat said then Jess walked out.
I pecked Cat's lips and then we slowly drifted to sleep.
*morning*
I stood  up carefully, not wanting to wake up Catherine. I walked out of the room and went to wake up Minho and Thomas so they can go run since the doors were just opening . As I approached the maze room Thomas and Minho were already awake.
"So I see your awake" I said
"And I see you and Catherine have something going on" Minho said
"I see your sass didn't go away" with that Minho stayed quiet. "Are you guys going to go run? The doors opened a few seconds ago"
"Oh yeah cmon Minho let's go" Thomas said and Minho and him walked out of the room.
I followed behind them and once they approached the maze they went in. I didn't follow behind. I then went to help Alby.
Catherine's POV
I woke up to see that Newt wasn't next to me. I was about to stand up but Jessica walked in with a tray of food in her hands.
"Well good morning, I figured out you had woken up and you might have been hungry" She said placing the food on my lap
" thanks I have been hungry"
"I woke up early and I also woke up frypan so we can make you some food, he did his best food , although he hasn't that satisfied being woken up that early"
I chuckled
"Thanks anyways"
"Anytime"
"This looks so good" I said observing the food in front of me
"It does"
"You want some?" I said gesturing her to the food
"Oh no thank you I already ate breakfast"
"Ok" I said then took a bite of my food
Delicious is all I could say
" so how was your first day as a runner?" She asked excited to know
" it's was pretty fun actually but not as fun as you could see" I said then looked at my leg "but it was actually pretty interesting when we explored a new section Minho said he had never seen that section before" I said as I took another bite
"Interesting " She said " did you see a Griever? "
"Yeah I did but even better I killed one"
"Noooo you didn't! Really?" She said finding it hard to believe "Oh...Your serious...you did that's awesome
"Yeah but it didn't end up well, as you see" I said looking at my leg, she chuckled.
"Ha yeah" She said
"I was thinking maybe you and I can go and explore It, I want to know what that beeping noise is"
"What noise?"
"Look be quiet for a second, hear it?" She stood quiet.
"Oh I hear it now" She said "What about It?"
"I want to know what it is , it's probably something from the Griever I killed" I explained
"So your telling me you want to go back into the maze, with you in a broken leg with me a slow runner, just to see what is that beeping noise coming out of a dead Griever?" She asked
"Yes but when you put to that way no, I Mean, I wanna know more about the dead Griever, it could have something that can get us out of here, look the boys here they haven found nothing for the past three years they have been here, don't tell me you aren't a little curious to know what is our there?" I asked waiting for a response.
"Fine then we'll go, but once your leg is healed which according to the Medijacks it going to take 2 to three weeks" She said accepting my offer
"In 2 to three weeks it is" I said finishing my food.
"Hey girls this box came up here when you guys arrived" said Alby as he walked into the room. " it says girls so I'm guessing it's for you"
Jessica's POV
I took the box in my hands and saw the wooded box it had the letters WICKD carved along the sides the word girls written on top with a black marker.
"WCKD? What does that mean?" I asked staring at the box
"We're not quite sure,yet" Alby responded
"I saw those letter when me and Minho went running last time. They were written along the walls." Cathy added
"Me Newt and Thomas think it's has something to do with the creators"
"Creators?" Me and Cathy asked at the same time
"Yeah we think there has to be people behind all of this, the maze the box everything, someone must've had put us in here"
"Oh ok, yeah, what's inside this box?" I asked
"We didn't opened it since it wasn't for us... so I brought it to you guys"
"Well open the box " Cathy said,
I then opened the box. I saw the stuff girls need. Bras pads and etc
"Oh lord" I said then immediately closed the box
"What is it?" Alby asked
" girls stuff you don't got a know" I said as I pushed him off
" Well the I'll just leave you guys here, I have to get going see you guys at dinner" he said and walked away
"Omg was that what I think it is?" Cathy asked
"If you mean Bras panties pads and all that yea" I said then took a seat
"Omg" She said and laughed
"Well I also have I get going ,I have to make breakfast for the rest of the Glade" I and then stood quickly.
"Anything you want for lunch?" I asked
"Anything will be fine" She smiled and I walked out
As soon as I walked out I saw a crowd of the boys in the distance. I let curiosity win the best of me and went to see what was going on. As I approached I saw that there was fight going on. I couldn't see clearly who was fighting .
"What's going on!?" I said
"What does it look like ?" A voice said
I managed to get myself in the middle of the circle. I saw it was Minho and Newt.
"Stop!" I said but it seemed useless.
"Stop!" I said this time screaming my lungs out.
Suddenly everyone stopped what they were doing . All eyes turned around me.
"What the shuck is going on here" I said breaking the silence
"What else does it look like?" The same voice from earlier said
Suddenly the fight continued with Minho and Newt. I stormed out and went to look for Alby.
I walked around the homestead and found Alby in his room with Thomas and Gally. I had their eyes laying on me.
"Sorry to interrupt but there is a fight going on between Minho and Newt. I tried stopping them but It didn't work" I said and they immediately stood up and pushed passed thought me. They walked out and I followed them behind.
"Hey!!!!" Alby shouted and all the boys around them cleared out around Newt and Minho. But they didn't stop fighting. Thomas and Gally went to Newt and Minho and pulled them apart.
"What the shuck is going on here!!!" Alby shouted at both of them.
"This shuck face left Catherine alone in the maze!!!......let me go Thomas !Newt shouted " Thomas let go of him and he settled down for a bit before attacking Minho and Minho let go of Gally.
Soon Gally and Thomas got ahold of them with the help of others. I observed both their faces and Minho had a purple eye and a scratch at the top of his eye revealing blood, and newt had a scratch on his cheek dripping blood and  a bleeding lip and nose.
"Newt!!! Stop it!" Alby said
Newts POV
"Both of you in my room now!" Alby shouted pointing at me and Minho. I ignored the blood dripping from my face and focused on Alby.
I saw anger inside of him that I have never seen before.
Thomas walked with his hand on my shoulder, and Minho with Gally.
We approached Alby's room , he sat in a chair and me and Minho stood up with Gally and Thomas besides us.
"What the hell was going in out there!?' Alby said with anger in his voice.
We both stayed quiet.
"I asked a question" Alby said more calmer
"What did it look like?" Minho replied
"I think I saw that.... Why the shuck did you fight!?" He asked
"Newt came up to me and started shouting at me about nonsense.. Of why I left Catherine alone in the maze and " "nonsense..... Wow leaving a girl in the maze alone is nonsense.... You are so shucking stupid why the shuck will you do that!!!" I said as I was about to punch him in the face, but Thomas pulled me back.
"Newt calm the shuck down !!!!" Alby shouted at me. "What is our rule about hurting others!?"
"To never hurt another glader"
"And that's exactly what you did !!That's not ok I can't have you guys setting examples for others" both of you are going to be punished!" Alby said. "Both of you 2 days in the pit with no food, but water Minho your not gonna go running for a week..... Newt I'm gonna have to rethink having you ok second in command "
"Abl-" "No exceptions you did what you did there's no going back" Alby cut me off
"Go get yourselves cleaned up.... After that you guys are going to eat lunch, then at noon Thomas and Gally are taking you to the pit...... I am very disappointed in the both of you" he said then stormed off.
Jessica's POV
I was making Cathy's lunch when Gally and Thomas holding newt and Minho were approaching.
"Hey Jess can you make lunch for these to guys please and a bottle of water" Gally asked
"Sure" I said
Catherine's POV
I was getting bored in my bed doing nothing when suddenly someone bursts trough a door on the other side of the room.
"Minho you sit down here I'll take newt to the other room" a voice said I then knew it was Thomas.
Soon Thomas and Newt came in the room I was in.
I observed newt and he had s bleeding nose, lip, and a scar on his cheek.
"What happened!?" I said as Thomas sat Newt on the bed across from me then left.
No answer.
"Newt?" I asked gently
"I got into a fight with Minho" he replied
"You what... Why?!" I asked
"Yes I got into a fight with Minho.... Because he just left you there in the maze like nothing.... I couldn't let him get away without him being  punished" he said with anger in his voice towards Minho.
"Newt you didn't have to do that look at me I'm ok.... Nothing happened" I said
"Nothing?!" He said
"I'm not dead newt"
"Barely"
"Newt come here sit on my bed" I said then I moved my not broken leg towards my upper body then took a seat on the open space near me.
I grabbed a napkin and poured the alcohol that was on the cabinet next to my bed.
I then slowly laid the napkin on his cheek where he had the scar in his cheek. The immediately moved away as I placed it in his cheek.
Newts POV
She laid the napkin on my cheek j them moved away because it stung on me.
"It's ok" she said I then moved back to my position and let her take care of me.
I took the time to see her features her face was absolutely beautiful. She just was unexplainably beautiful. Her hair is in  brown curls. Her eyes the same as her hair love the way they shine. A hurtful sting on my lips caused me to get away from my thoughts.
"Ow that hurt more" I said as I moved away.
"Sorry" she said "I'll just out water on this one" she said then grabbed another napkin and put water in it, then placed it in my lips.
"There you lips and nose and cheek ate all good" she said
"My lips still kinda hurt" I said lying
"Oh then I don't know what else to do"
"You know what to do" I said
She laughed.
"Fine" she said then placed her lips on mine.
"Happy?" She said as she pulled away
"Yes" I smiled
Jessica's POV
I finished Catherine's food then I made Minhos and Newts food as Gally ordered me to do.
Once I was done I went to the medjacks and went to give the food to them.
As I walked in I saw Minho first.
"Hey umm I brought your food" I said
"Thanks" he said
I handed him the food and he took it.
"I know we haven't actually met but... Umm my name is Jessica annnddd that's all I know about myself" I said
"My names Minho and apparently I look 18 years old" he said as he took his hand out for me to shake it, and I did.
"How old do I look like?"I asked
"Hmmm maybe around 16,17?" He said
"Ok..... One more question of you don't mind?" I asked and he nodded
"Why did you and newt fight?" I asked "well.... He came up to me and started telling me stuff.... about how stupid I was to leave Catherine alone in there. But one also cares about its life so I decided to run....I told him that I didn't want to leave her in there but I had to since I also cared about me he then punched me then I punched back and.... that's why we fought" he explained
"Oh.....I understand why Newt is so concerned about Cathy.... You can tell he clearly likes her....."
"Yeah I can.... But he isn't the only one" He said and looked down.
