Chapter 16
“You have a connection to an assassin, professional killer?” I clarify with adrenaline rushing threw my veins. Damon rests the phone onto the table and gives me a fake calming look. I felt the tension in the room form Lucian and Damon. I look back at Lucian. He was looking at me as if he was looking at the devil himself. I didn’t see the need of them to both look in me in such a weird way.
“I’m not going to lend him to you to kill Daphne, psycho,” Demon dryly repeats. Lucian breathes out his whole lungs as if he’s never been relieved before. I roll my eyes at the dramatic actions both boys were giving me. Daphne is my sister. I wouldn’t actually hire an assassin to kill her. She’ll die of everything from the guys she went in bed with had.
“No,” I tell him “It’s not about Daphne.” Lucian shifts his head right back with the most horrified British face I’ve ever seen.
“Bloody hell, you’re not actually going to kill someone are you?” Lucian stretches every part of his face. Technically, it won’t be me killing the kidnappers. It was for my family and I had to do it. It was about time to tell Demon because he was my last chance. I just hope that he’s trustworthy enough to go to the cops about it.
“No,” I tell Lucian “I was just asking. Could you leave so I can talk to Damon alone?” Lucian raised an eyebrow and then mutters the word ‘talk’ under his breath. He can think whatever he wants to. I need to find a way to get hold of an assassin to get rid of my parent’s kidnappers.
“Talk, okay... You want me to lock the room too?” Lucian asks.
“Stay nearby and make sure the Martians are around and don’t listen over,” I tell him.
“Martians, understood...” Lucian makes his way to the door. This is my chance to get my parents back without the chance of handing them the money and then kill them. I patiently wait for Lucian to leave. He closes the door and all the sudden the door was jammed.
“You finally decide to sleep with me? That’s naughty Lexis. What about Seth? Well, I’m glad you agree with ‘friends with benefits,’” Demon smiles brightly. I gave a threatening look and sat on Lucian’s chair.
“Yea, I didn’t think so,” Demon slowly wipes off his face “You’re not going to kill me are you?” When is ever going to finish talking? How am I supposed to tell him? I stare down at my feet in silence thinking about what words to choose.
I seduced you to taking me back because I need to save my parents. You can’t go to FBI about it because my parents are doing something illegal. – No, I can’t tell them they’re doing something illegal. The inside of me ached. I’m afraid if he’ll go to the FBI or tell people about it. Will he really let me do something illegal? I’m pretty sure hiring an assassin is illegal.
I’m trusting him with something more than my heart. Trusting him with bunch of people’s life. Lexis, you have to make up your mind. Do you want to keep getting into his life and gain a lot of money but still take years to obtain the amount the kidnappers want. I shouldn’t call them kid-nappers. Adult-nappers.
“You want to tell me something?” Demon glances at me with a loose expression. I bit the bottom of my lip and stare at him.
“I don’t know if I can trust you,” I admit.
“Lexis, it’s over,” He reminds.
