It took a few minutes but I was back at the Avengers tower.
I sighed. It's now or never.
I have to give Bruce and Tony my father's work and hope that they can save Harry from himself.
I am not losing another person I care about.
I land on the top of the tower and go to the door and walk in. "Wonder where Tony and the others are?" I ask myself not expecting a response until I jump to the ceiling out of shock as I hear a female computer voice speak out to me.
"Mr. Stark and friends are on the floor below you sir. I was asked to take you to them when you got back. The elevator is to your left."
I nodded and go to the elevator and get in. It closes behind me and goes down to the floor I'm needed to go to.
I watch as the elevator opens and I see all the avengers looking up from a table at me.
I sigh and walk out of the elevator and tighten my hold on my back pack.
I forgot my hood was back on again while I was swinging here.
I sigh and walk in before pulling my bag off and setting it on the table in front of Tony and beside Steve. "Tony.... I'm entrusting you and Bruce with this. I swear if it gets into Oscorp hands I will hurt you ten fold. This is very important work my father did with Doctor Connors. Oscorp was using this information to create super powered soldiers like Steve here. They were probably trying to find a way to make more like him. My dad used his DNA for the spiders so only someone like me can even be genetically enhanced. So with me giving this to you .. You must protect it. Okay?"
I see Tony nod. He looked surprised that I wasn't leaving my hand from my bag on the table until I seen him nod.
I sigh and slowly remove my hand. "By now you probably have looked up my face and tried to find out who I am. Correct?" I ask as I looked up at them all.
I see nods and frowns.
Bruce speaks up. "Are you him? Was your death certificate faked?"
I sat down at the empty chair I was by since Tony stood up to give me a seat as he picked up my bag and looked through it.
I watched him through the corner of my eyes as I replied to Bruce. "It wasn't faked. Everyone thought I died in the explosion with my Aunt. No one could find any bodies because they would've been incinerated in the fire. I couldn't do anything to save my Aunt." I clenched my fists. "She had called me before it happened. I didn't get to pick up the phone. I was stopping a robbery at the time. I managed to get home right when the firefighters were putting out the flames." I didn't know it but my voice cracked as I spoke and tears were falling down my face slowly. "I was in my spidey suit when I jumped down to find out what happened.... They... They told me... that there were no survivors... They... They thought.... I was with her... My regular life was gone that day... I was officially only Spider-Man from then on..... I left and never looked back.... I went to my dad's hideout where he hid everything he ever did. I used the little money I had for food and water and even was able to find old clothes in dumpsters. I never really did much except fight everyday to protect New York. I even kept trying to come up with a cure for Harry but I haven't cracked it yet." My eyes were closed and my hood was still covering my head slightly.
I flinched unconsciously and gasped as my eyes opened when I felt someone's arms around me hugging me. I almost had a heart attack. I look up to see Natasha had her arms wrapped around me. It was at that moment that I realized I wasn't alone anymore. I was going to be okay now. I relaxed in Natasha's arms as she hugged me.
Even the others joined in and hugged me or placed a hand on my shoulder.
I felt extremely exhausted from everything that had happened today mentally and physically.
I didn't even know that I had fallen asleep in everyone's hold with tears drying on my face and my head on leaned against Natasha's shoulder. She made me feel safe. Safer than I had been in a long time.
I barely felt someone lift me from Natasha's safe and warm embrace and into strong warm arms that gently held me as though I could break.
I felt like I was floating as I was being carried to a room to sleep in.
When I felt the arms gently lay me down I instantly felt like I was laying on clouds. I groaned softly and opened my eyes slightly and seen I was in a bed. My eyes fell close before I could see who put me in my room as I fell into a deep dreamless sleep that I have been needing for the past couple weeks.
My only thoughts when I fell asleep was saving Harry and finally feeling safe again.
