I winced as I leaned back against the couch." Are you sure your alright" the youngest lightwood, Max  asked.

" Other then being body slammed by a vampire through a magic portal, I'm good" I told him and he laughed. I got up again and winced putting pressure on my injured ankle before I left with Simon Isabelle and Jace. On the way there, I gave Simon smack on the back oh the head causing Jace to smirk when he flinched before he explained." When you fell through, you brought Rissa along with you"

" You broke my ankle, your lucky I didn't strangle you when we came through" I mumbled the last part but he still heard it." look at the bright side at least you have quick healing abilities and now it's barely even bruised" Alec pointed out from his place next to the fire place and I rolled my eyes.

" it still hurt" I whined as we walked over to the other three teens in the room, sitting on the sofa was a boy and a girl who I had already met when we got here, Sebastian Verlac and Aline Penhallow. Something just didn't feel right about Sabastian, like I had met him before. They introduced themselves to Simon who showed them his abilities to walk in sunlight, instead of burning. Alec left to give some notes to the Gard and Jace sat down next to Aline. Finding nothing better to do, I leaned against the door frame and pulled out my journal which I had brought along since I didn't trust Clary not to go snooping if I left it back in New York. I started doodling on the edges of the pages out of boredom but snapped the book shut when the conversation turned to Valentine and the Instruments but that stopped when everyone went silent before Aline asked Simon about being a vampire and then the conversation turned to Clary and Jace dragged Simon from the room. I stole Simon's seat in the arm chair and Isabelle rolled her eyes as I started writing again." Who you writing about now"

" no one" I lied and she raised an eyebrow before looking over my shoulder as I wrote." have you done one about Magnus yet?"

" Nope and I'm not even going to try" I told her" I would need another notebook" I joked and she laughed." more four or five"

" What are you guys talking about" Aline asked and we shared a look.

" I don't know Isabelle, should we trust her with my brain and thoughts that I only share with those I trust" I asked her and she shrugged before we smirked. Aline's eyes widened and we both started laughing before I started flipping through the pages for one I thought I wouldn't mind sharing before handed the book over. She read it and frowned" is this really all you see in Alec" she asked and I nodded." I'm an observer, I write what I see" I shrugged before taking the book back and tucking it away. " Jace told us that you have Warlock abilities" Sabastian told me and I raised an eyebrow before Aline smiled" oh a warlock, do you have a mark?"

" Mark?" I asked confused and Isabelle explained" A demon mark, it's something your born with, kind of like Magnus's eyes"

" oh, um...no, I don't have one" I told her shaking my head.

" leave it to Jace to try to make you out as a show off, which you are" Isabelle said before Aline went to get snacks. I rolled my eyes reaching over for an apple slice just as Jace and Simon came back." Come on Rissa, we're used to Jace's big head" Aline told me and I glanced at Jace who shrugged.

" Not like any of us are going to tell, I mean we already did break the law by bringing Simon here"

" fine, but I'm blaming you if this going horribly wrong" I told them before holding out my hand, palm facing upwards. Like a candle being lit, the flames danced a crossed my fingers." wow" Aline said as they started changing colors, from blue to green to purple and back to orange before I cut it off.

" If you think that was freaky, you should have seen when we first met her, she jumped off a building" Isabelle cried and I rolled my eyes." hey, you followed me to that roof, not the other way around". I snagged another apple slice just as Alec came back and told us that Simon was going home. Sabastian left to find to Isabelle and they reappeared a few minutes later before Alec and Simon left for the Gard. Max had joined us and was eating piece of cake in the corner over a book he bought.

I felt eyes on the back of my neck and looked to find Sabastian before a chill went down my spine.
