they say that time heals wounds, and they're right. what they don't tell you is that when you see their face again; the wounds open back up.it's been three months since i saw shawn, since we "broke up."
mostly that time has been spent going to school, but the first month was people continuously asking what happened.
either way, i got over it.
that is until jack freaking gilinsky forgot to tell me a very important fact about who would be around when i came to visit, and yes, me and both jacks are still very much friends.
i walk back into the living room to find jack looking sheepish and hiding his face.
"you know what would have been great information? maybe telling me, 'hey leena, shawn is going to be here, just so you know.'" i exclaim, putting my hands on my hips.
"okay, but what would be the fun in that?" he says, trying to lighten the mood.
"i hate you so much, gilinsky." i groan, as i flop down beside him on the couch.
"it had to happen eventually, it is so tiring to keep him out of conversations and making sure that you guys come into town at different times. its been months, you are both grown, just talk to him and get it over with." he said, sitting up.
"yeah, yeah. stop spouting wisdom and make me a sandwich, please." i said, turning my head towards him and pouting.
"only because im an ass that didn't tell you shawn was going to be here." he said getting up, as i grinned at him in thanks.
i walked back out to the backyard where i saw shawn sitting and talking among nate, sammy, and more friends of the jacks, earlier.
i wonder if he knows that im here. i throw caution out the window and go to sit where the rest of them are formed in a circle.
"hey l, long time no see!" sammy greets, as i sit between him and nate.
"hey sam," i grin, "missed ya."
"missed you more." he replies, in a sing song voice.
i look at the ground until i have the nerve to look up, to look around the circle and see all the people who are here.
but, lucky for me, the first person i look up and make eye contact with is shawn.
i'm pulled away from his gaze by jack opening the back door, "the cook has finished his kitchen duties, and is here to grant ms. white with her sandwich." he says, while holding up the sandwich.
i laugh and stand up, "well y'all heard that, my duties await." i say as i walk inside.
"thanks, chef." i smile at jack and take the sandwich out of his hands.
"so, anything juicy happen while i was gone?" he asks, sitting beside me in the kitchen.
"yeah, it was ground breaking, really, i sat down." i replied, sarcastically and took a big bite of the food in front of me.
"well, looks like something ground breaking is really about to happen." he says, standing.
i turn towards him confused, and see him walk away, as shawn takes his place.
"hey." he says softly.
"hi?" i say through a mouth full of sandwich.
