As a little girl I thought poetry was hard. I didn't understand it. I thought it was stupid and that it had to rhyme and I could never truly write poetry. Poetry is so much more than the rhythmic way it can be written, that honestly doesn't matter. Poetry is wisdom, only the wise can write poetry. Something happens to you, that changes you let's say a heartbreak. For then, you can write the saddest lines. Poetry is the darkest thoughts arranged into words. It is the deepest feelings being expressed. Poetry is the expression of ones feelings. Happy, sad, lonely, in love, depression, excitement etc. Poetry is like taking your soul and its broken pieces and turning them into a puzzle on a sheet of paper with a pen. True art. Poetry is therapeutic. Late night scribbling and writing down how you feel, poetry is like you're bleeding with a pen. Blessed are the poets for they are not afraid to meet with their emotions and deal with them. For they are the most sensitive people. Poetry is beautiful, beyond beauty that I cannot honestly fathom into words. In poetry, I have found myself.
