As I drove off, I saw that Lucas was still rooted to the spot he was in from 2 minutes prior. However, I felt no remorse for him standing there all alone. He did this to him fucking self, and it's not my problem that he was idiotic enough to do something like that.

Or is it my problem?

"Damn it, Maya, shut up," I mumbled to myself in frustration towards my actual feelings.

Of course I loved him. Of course something like this wouldn't change that now or anytime soon, but it sure as hell didn't mean I couldn't be upset with him now or couldn't make him feel like shit because he deserves it.

Before I knew it, I was pulling into a quaint little parking lot with flowers (I think they were lilacs) growing out of planters hanging from the ceiling. Ivy crawled up the walls upon the converted restaurant and snaked around it, giving the place an earthy feel.

The jingle and chime of the bells attached to the entrance of the restaurant gave me tingles in my toes, and I entered with new lightness.

The restaurant as a whole had about 15 people in it, scattered about in various places with different points of conversation. Choosing a booth in the corner of the tavern, I sat down and waited for my guest to arrive and seek their guidance.

A beautiful woman who looked like she was in her mid-twenties approached my booth with a clipboard in hand.

"Hi there! My name is Mo, and I'll be your waitress for the day," she said with a beaming smile on her face.

Everything about her immediately brightened my day and her essence just seemed to radiate happiness.

"Hi there!" I spoke in return.

"Is there anything I can get you to start off with?" she asked sincerely.

"You know what, I just sat down and I haven't checked the menu out yet, but I'll order something in a minute," I explained calmly. "I have another person joining me in just a minute, so I'll wait til he gets here."

"I see," she said mischievously with a smile, as if she knew all my secrets.

She turned and began to walk away and I began to examine the menu before she twisted right back around.

"You're beautiful by the way," she said, absolutely genuinely.

My heart swelled with love for this stranger who'd managed to turn my entire day around.

"Mo?" I asked as she furrowed her eyebrows in response. "Thank you."

A smile spread across her face as she turned around and walked right back into the kitchen in the very back of the quaint restaurant.

Picking the menu back up, I began to scan through the comfort food on the menu and analyzed the designs and fonts on the page.

A familiar ringing of bells at the front of the restaurant signaled the entering of my visitor. His hair looked even better than usual, swirled up at the top of his head and he wore a leather jacket around his broad shoulders. He looked good. Even I wasn't dumb enough to miss that.

Some assorted girls from around the cafe gave him flirty glances that he quickly returned with that smirk he used to save just for me.

Not that I cared.

"Hey M.." he spoke softly. "My advice was requested?"

"Why yes, Joshua," I replied teasingly. "I find myself in quite the predicament in the case where my sorta boyfriend got stupid drunk because of his commitment issues."
