I blink once or twice, my eyes stinging as I squint against the bright lights above me on the ceiling.
"Lacey? Oh, thank God!" I hear someone cry from beside me, and I finally realize where I am.
The hospital. And that's definitely Gwen speaking.
"She's awake?" I hear another voice chime in, causing me to squeeze my eyes shut again.
There goes Hanna.
I open my mouth to say something, but my throat is dry and I'm in far too much pain to move.
"Okay, don't move. We'll get you some water and we'll help you sit up!"
Is that Christian? Probably, yes.
Not too long after that was said, I was being sat up properly, and Will was handing me a bottle of water.
"Hey, kid." He said, giving me a sheepish smile. I smiled weekly back, licking my lips after taking a sip from the bottle.
Everyone is silent for a moment or two, but I finally speak up. "How long have I been out for? And where's Gavin?"
Hanna answers my first question. "A few weeks. Three or four."
"And Gavin?"
They all exchange glances until Christian sighs, his shoulders lifting and dropping in a slight shrug. "He left, Lace." He says, running his fingers through his hair. "The other car hit your side, and Gavin only had a few scratches. He came to see you before he left, and then he took off."
I blink, completely shocked. Left? Why would he just leave? Or better yet, how could he just leave?
Before anybody else could say anything, my Aunt Heather, Derek and my brother burst through the door.
"You said you would come get us if she woke up, Hanna!" Brandon cries, narrowing his eyes at my best friend.
I can't help but laugh as I look at my family, giving them all a small smile.
Where do things go from here? I wish I knew. One thing I know; Gavin most likely won't be apart of anything to come.

Happy New Year! Will the new year bring a sequel?
Maybe. This ending is shit, and I'm trash, so I deeply apologise.
Anyway, I wish everyone the best, and I'll obviously let you all know what's going on with the possible sequel!
