Chapter 26
I wake up beside Josh. He's awake and watching me. I thow a pillow at his face and laugh; he laughs too and pushes the pillow away. I turn so I'm facing him and kissed my forehead. For a second we just lay there smiling at each other, then a knock at the door stops us. Sarah walks in with the cordless phone from the kitchen.
"Porcelain, it's for you." I give Josh a questioning look then take the phone from Sarah. Rolling back over to face Josh I said hello.
"Porce? PORCELAIN!" The person shrieks and I cringe at the sound.
"Who is this?"
"Oh sorry, it's Jade. I thought we lost you." I laughed and shook my head.
"Hi Jade, what's up?"
"Well seeing as tomorrow is your birthday." I look at the calendar aboce Josh's head and that she is in face right. Tomorrow is my twenty-fourth birthday. "I was calling to if you would join your dad and I for dinner." I tell her to wait a minute and turn to Sarah.
"You guys haven't planned anything for tomorrow that involves me, have you?" Sarah shrugged and shook her head. I turn to Josh and does the same. I put the phone back to my ear. "Yeah I'm free."
"Okay perfect, we'll pick you up at five tomorrow. Oh right, i'll need an address." I quickly check with Josh to see if it's okay that I give her address to my stepmom, he shrugged and I did.
"Alright, see you tomorrow at five." I hung up and handed the phone to Sarah, without saying a word she left and closed the door behind her. Josh smiled at me as I turned to face him again. "What?" He shrugged.
"I'm just happy about us." I laughed and shifted closer to him. "No really, we've been through a lot."
"That we have." Josh chuckled and wrapped an arm around me. My head was pressed against his chest, I listened to his heart beat. "You know that time when I was showering and you came in singing that song?" Josh laughed.
"Which time?" I giggled and bit my lip.
"The one about perfect porcelain." Josh shrugged.
"Yeah I remember."
"Is there a full version to it?" Josh placed his chin on my head.
"Yeah."
"Can I hear it?"
"Tomorrow." I shrugged and buried myself deeper into Josh's body.

An hour later Josh convinced me to get up and have breakfast with him. I wasn't going to get dressed until Josh told me that it would be better if I did. When I got up stairs his parents had smiles spread across their faces as they stood by the counter. I looked at them confused and their smiles faded a bit.
"What's going on?" Everyone shrugged and turned to Josh, he was smiling with his hands behind his back.
"I know that normal people would think what happened last night would make everything worse, but for some reason I think we're even better than before. I think we're stronger." I looked to Josh's parents and his mom was crying, I stared at her for a second before she left the room. I looked to Sarah and she was smiling.
"Can you please explain what's going on?" Sarah shrugged.
"Not allowed to say." I felt Josh's hand cup my cheek and then his force pull my face back to his. When I turned back he only an inch from my face smiling bigger that before.
"I know you freaked the last time I asked but I think it's different now." As he said that I tried to imagine what he was talking about. I had freaked over a lot of questions because I'm a messed up person. I shook head and went back to listening to Josh. "I just hope you feel the same way." I turned away to look at Sarah and heard something lightly hit the ground. I turned back and saw Josh on his knee. I let go of his hand and covered my mouth to keep from shrieking.
