Calleigh's POV

It was still early when I glanced at my watch. The time read 8:30. Yes, it was still that early and I didn't mind being stuck in the car with Brandon. He was quiet now and I was wondering what's going on his mind. I decided to keep quiet and look at the bright lights of the buildings that we pass by. Everything that's happening between me and Brandon is a complete mystery.

He had ways of making my heart leap uncontrollably. I must admit that the way he is wooing me to become his is way more romantic than how Tim had courted me when we were still starting. Wait. Was he even courting me. I am not sure but it does feel like he is.

We came to a stop to an entrance of a familiar spot - Central Park. What were we going to do here anyway? I mean it was too late to take a walk around the park. Well to be honest, being out at this time of the night was quite late for me since I've never been out this late after Tim died. We both got out of the car and like what he did at the joint, he held my hand as we walked inside the park.

I was surprised to see that there were still a lot of people going in the park at this time of the night. There were even kids with their parents with them. Teenagers in groups were laughing at something that they found funny and couples holding hands and even making out at some of the benches filled the park.

I blushed as I looked at the couples who were looking at each other, locking their gazes as if they could see through their partner's soul. That feeling of being connected to another person just makes me wonder if I could have that with Brandon. I can tell that he was trying his best to do it. The chill as we walked around the park was getting cooler by the minute and it was the cue that he waited to wrap an arm around me. I looked up at him and he smiled at me as he met my gaze. I grinned at him and continued to walk. We both stopped at the sight of the skating rink.

"We're going skating?" I asked as I held onto the strap of my bag tightly as if my life depended on it. I have never tried ice skating before. How was I supposed to tell him that I am too scared to try this one.

Brandon's POV

I was in heaven! There were no words to describe in totality how happy I was to be able to get to kiss her quickly at the joint, to hold her hand, to wrap my arm around her and to look into her eyes. This girl has got a tight leash around me. This was the first time I found myself wanting to really impress a girl big time and she was really worth all the trouble.

That morning, I asked Maggie what Calleigh usually did during her free time. I noticed that she was just glued to her computer screen the whole time she's at home. Her work as an editor is quite demanding but it shouldn't really hold her back from enjoying the life that she has. Tim wouldn't want that for her. Maggie told me that since Tim died, all Calleigh did was just bury herself in work and nothing else. Well that was sad and really bad for her. That gave me an idea to make her unwind.

Getting into my room, I found myself looking at a stack of letters that Tim left me as instructions on how to woo his girl. He gave me a list of what Calleigh has never done in her life up to the time that they were together. It was like a bucket list that Tim had made for me to complete with her. It was hard but I should give it a try. On the list included that he has never taken her to a skating rink and a local deli or joint. It spiked up the idea of taking her to the burger joint.

And when we both got there, the reaction I got was priceless. She was happily eating her double cheese burger and I promised myself to take her to more food trips than she ever had with Tim. It wasn't like I was trying to prove something; it was just my way of making her stop for a while and enjoy her life that way that she should.
