Sashas POV (age 10)
"Yess Grade 5 is almost over. Next year we will be the oldest in the school!!!" I yell at Miranda
"I know its soooo exciting! We have so much more of a chance to make the sport teams!!" She jumps up and down with excitement.
We line up and get ready to leave. Just a couple more minutes before school is out for summer vacation!
Richard shuffles up to me.
"Hey, um Sasha. I just wanted to tell you that.... next year...im not going to this school" as he said those words my heart fell out of my chest and shattered. I looked at him with sad eyes
"What do you mean? You're going to a different school?" I asked
"My mom is sending me to a private school. Im sorry"
Im sad very sad. But i cant stop it from happening
"I hope Rocky is nice to you, maybe he'll ask you to grad if I convince him to" he says.
"And if he doesnt?" I ask questioningly
"Then he'd be missing out on a lot" he says and i smile at him.
As the school bell rings Richard and I wave goodbye. Knowing that we most likely wont see eachother again.
Everyone was happy. Most people went home or got some food but they all did with smiles.
I was happy too. But in my heart and in my mind I knew I would miss Richard. It would be so different without him.
Then my mind went to the cottage.
I will be seeing my friends soon!
Robin, and Susan
But also Jake and Brandon.
I can't wait!
**few hours later**
In my room I look for something, a little box. As i find it I pick it up and open it. Inside are little notes the Richard used to send me in grade 4 when note passing in class was fun and secretive. I remember doing that with him. Writing notes, I dont know if he ever kept mine. But I kept his, all of them.
His messy handwriting and bad spelling was cute. He wasn't the smartest kid in the class but he wasnt dumb. Richard was just good at sports..... but now hes gone.
I always wonder if people would remember me. Because I may think of a person and it breaks my heart to see them go. But i can't imagine anyone feeling like that about me.
