<Keira's POV>
Sam and Dean are getting really suspicious because apparently, the amount of demons we've been seeing lately is bordering on Apocolyptic. I guess when the Apocolypse happened, they saw a lot of demons making preperations for Lucifers arrival. So, the idea tonight, is to find a case without any demons.
We decide on a Roogaroo case. I know what Roogaroo's are now, and I know how to kill them, but when we went hunting for one, Sam and Dean made me stay in the room. Apparently, Roogaroo's have crazy wicked strength. They didn't want me anywhere near that. This time though, I think I'm going to be able to help them.
"No."
I glare at them both. Stupid brotherly bond that has them speaking at the same time.
"Do the two of you rehearse this or something?" I ask with a scowl.
"Keira, be reasonable," Sam says and I give him a look.
He puts his hands up but keeps arguing.
"I am being reasonable," I reply, "I want to be hunter too. I don't want to be this damsel in distress forever. I want to be able to protect myself, especially when you two aren't around."
"Why wouldn't we be around?" Dean asks unhappily.
He's frowning at me and crossing his arms in that intimidating way of his.
"I don't know, maybe I'm with Bobby and you're on a case and something comes after us. A demon somehow gets me alone. You know, since you two seem to be leaving me in the room a lot?"
Dean glares at me because he knows I make a good point. I look at Sam, trying to appeal to him, because he often listens to logic and reasoning.
"Keira, Roogaroo's are serious. They're not something to mess around with."
I cross my legs on the bed and raise an eyebrow.
"You think I don't know that? Sam, everything you let me hunt is serious. Ghosts, demons, vampires. And you know they all have one stunning quality: they want to kill me. I got it. I'm not stupid."
He sets his hands on his lap and looks down, obviously thinking.
"It's not as if I'm facing this thing alone," I say softly, "I'll have you two by my side. It's not even my hunt to lead anyway."
Still unconvinced, he looks at Dean, as if for his input which will undoubtedly be no.
"And you know that the nice thing here is that I'm asking instead of sneaking out, like I will if you don't let me go."
That seems to settle it for them.
"Fine," Sam says, "but stay behind us. Don't put yourself in any head on danger. Try not to draw attention to yourself."
I nod enthusiastically and jump up and down excitedly.
"Thanks Sam!" I say hugging him.
"Uh yeah. You're welcome for putting you in life threatening danger."
Sam's arm wrap around me in return and I smile to myself. We're not together-sadly. But I have a huge crush on him. Neither of us will acknowledge it, but I think we both know that we like each other. I know that Dean knows. He won't leave Sam alone about it.
"Hey what about me?" Dean says and I roll my eyes.
I jump up and hug him as well.
A few hours later, we're sitting outside this guys house He's got a cute little house, of course. It's your standard two story, just married couple house. The street is quiet as well, everyone seems pretty respectable. I'm relaxing in the backseat, playing Fruit Ninja on my iphone. Dean, hearing the sound of dying fruit asks me what I'm doing. He passes a full hour playing it before things start happening.
