A/N: Yes, I know, I haven't updated in a while and I suck. I've just been having a really hard time lately and I haven't had much motivation to do anything. Anyway, I have some extra super special news for you guys that you have to wait til the end of this chapter for ^.^ (also, since this is based off the episode-I'm literally writing and pausing as I watch-this may be split up into several parts since after this chapter will be the finale).
<Keira's POV>
I sigh, fighting a wave of fatigue. I've been up for close to 48 hours reading through the Campbell journals. There's been nothing so far other than the fact that the 'mother of all' calls herself Eve-but that came from Kristy.
Anyway, the Campbell's are Sam and Dean's family on their mother's side. I guess her entire line is full of hunters. A few days ago I met their resurrected grandfather. He was kind of a dick. I also met Rufus. Unfortunately, both of them died thank to one of Eve's monsters. We gave Rufus a proper burial. Bobby's taken it really hard, but lately he seems to be getting better.
Kristy's warning still echoes in my mind. She's only come by every once in awhile and she doesn't remember even saying anything about 'my fate being decided'. Everyone's worried about her, even Cas, but anytime we say something she just dismisses it.
"Keira," Sam says and I look up from the faded ink to him. "You should get some rest."
I shake my head.
"No, I'm alright."
He gives me a look that says 'don't argue' and I sigh, setting my book down.
"Okay, maybe I'm a little tired," I allow, smile slightly.
Sam chuckles and opens his arms to me. I slide off my seat on one of the recliners and saunter over to the couch, where Sam is nursing a beer and his own journal.
"How are you coming along?" I ask, settling into his side.
I'll never get tired of snuggling with Sam. Everything about him, his warmth, his smell, is so welcoming. I wrap an arm around his torso and squeeze, hugging him tightly. He runs a hand through my hair and hugs me back, smiling down at me.
"Slow," he answers, kissing my forehead, "it's taking me a while to decipher all the old terms."
I hum a little and push his book away gently.
"Then maybe you should take a break too," I say rising up to kiss him.
Just as he's deepening the kiss, Bobby barges in with Dean in tow.
"Alright you two-enough cuddling," he says in his gruff way, "I found somethin'."
We both straighten up, interested.
"What'd you find?" Sam asks.
"Samuel Winchester says that the 'Mother' can be burned by pheonix ashes," Bobby says.
I look at him confused.
"Like...Harry Potter pheonix?" I ask.
He nods, expression solemn. "I would think so."
"Those don't exist," Dean says in the voice that means he's talking about something he's not sure of, "do they?"
"I dunno, Dean," Sam replies, rational as ever, "I mean, we didn't think angels existed. Or dragons. Or-"
"Okay, okay," Dean interrupts, "I got it. It's possible."
I run a hand through my already messy hair. How Dean manages to keep his hair that neat all time, I'll never know. Sam, too. His hair is perfect.
