<Sam's POV>

Keira's fixing Veronica over by the table. Dean told Veronica to back off so that we could finish the case. Veronica was pissed, but she agreed. The ghost turned out to be stronger than we thought. It knocked Keira and I out, and was going to kill Dean when Veronica showed up and saved us. Dean's working on his apology right now while Keira is mending the wicked scratch over Veronica's eye.

"Did it actually hit my eye?" Veronica asks.

Keira smiles a little and shakes her head.

"No, missed it by a couple centimeters actually."

The scratch goes down the right side of her forehead and dips into her eyebrow. Keira uses butterfly bandages to pull them together.

"Good news: the bleeding has stopped," Keira says, "the bad news: you're going to have a scar."

Veronica shrugs.

"That's fine. Scars don't bother me."

Keira gets up and starts cleaning up the mini nurses station she has set up. She bends over to pick up a bandage wrapper and I get a good look at her butt. As if she can read my mind, she glances at me over her shoulder as she straightens up.

"So busted," she says teasingly, tossing the used medical supplies in the trash.

Meanwhile...

<Kristy's POV>

"Are you mentally challenged?" Balthazar asks me.

I shrug.

"It's an ongoing discussion," I reply unoffendedly.

Cas makes a face.

"Alright, you two," he says.

He started it, I think to him but look at the passage in the ancient book he shows me.

We've been looking through old texts for hours and I have excersized the full lengths of language abilities thanks to the fact that Cas has me reading a family journals that have been passed down through several generations in several languages. I'm laying on the couch with my sixth journal on my stomach as I scan the article.

"Purgatory?" I ask, "isn't that where people who have unfinished business go?"

Cas shakes his head.

"That's what ghosts are here for," he says.

"Yes, Purgatory is where all the monsters you kill go," Balthazar adds.

I frown.

"Alright, what does that have to do with Raphael?" I ask.

"Remember what I said about souls? How they're powerful?" Balthazar asks.

I swear.

"He wants to use those souls," I say, stretching out farther on the couch in Cas's office.

"Bingo," Balthazar replies.

I run a hand through my hair and look at Cas.

"There are millions of souls," he says, "with that kind of power...he could become the next God."

We're all silent, considering this new threat. Something occurs to me.

"Raphael may be powerful, but he's stupid. He couldn't find his ass with a map and a compass. He must have help."

Balthazar nods.

"That makes sense. Who's helping him though?"

"Crowley," Cas says suddenly and we both look at him surprised, "he and Crowley must have made some kind of deal."
